Look at your neighbor with this funny attitude and just tell them, «No shortcuts allowed, foreigners allowed.» You know, we were always taught in school that a straight line is the shortest distance between two points. How many people have heard that before? A straight line—and it’s true! A straight line is the shortest distance between two points. So, in order to move from point A to point B, if I want to move fast, I have to go through the straight line. This is true when you’re dealing with two-dimensional objects.

So, there’s something called Euclidean geometry, which is the study of planes, figures, and shapes when you’re dealing with two-dimensional objects. In Euclidean geometry, it is the shortest distance. However, when you move to three dimensions and begin to talk about spherical surfaces like the Earth, that rule no longer applies. Because when you move from two dimensions to three dimensions, a straight line is no longer the shortest distance. I know, right now, some of you are trying to figure out how that is possible. Let me ask you: Have you ever flown on an airplane? You’ve seen that the distance between your departure and destination is not marked with a straight line; it’s always a curved line because they use a concept called great circle distance. You don’t have to Google it now, even though I know some people are going to still Google it.

There is a concept called great circle distance, which is the shortest distance when you’re dealing with spherical surfaces like the Earth. On one hand, we are taught that when we are in two dimensions or in a 2D framework or construct, a straight line is the shortest distance. But when you move to the third dimension and deal with spherical surfaces, it’s no longer a straight line but a curved line called the great circle distance. Think about it. As I considered this, it dawned on me that the Earth is three-dimensional, and the God who created the Earth is three-dimensional: Father, Son, and Spirit.

So, in order to function on Earth or to function where God wants you to function, some of you are still thinking straight without realizing that you are no longer in two dimensions. Once God elevates you, it will no longer be a straight line but a curved line. The reason this is important is that most of you think you are focused without knowing you are just fixed in the way you think God will do it. You are so fixed on how the promotion will happen and how the breakthrough will occur: «I’m going to do this and I’m going to do that,» without knowing that in life, there are ups and downs, peaks and valleys, highs and lows. Many people think it’s called a delay, not realizing you are in the third dimension, and the fastest way from point A to point B in the third dimension is through a curve.

I want to talk to you about the curves of life. Some of you are going through curves in your finances, curves in your relationships, curves in business deals, and you’re going through a legal process that is so curvy. I need you to understand that perhaps you should consider that you are no longer in the second dimension but are now in the third dimension, and God knows how to move you from point A to point B.

Talk to me, Joseph. You went through the pit, you went through the prison, but what you didn’t know was that this was a curve, and you were no longer in the second dimension. Things are not always going to be straight. They are not always going to be fixed, and they are not going to always go how you want them to, because there is a concept called great circle distance. I thought about this and began to reflect on life having ups and downs, uncertainties in life. I just want to encourage someone this morning and let you know that what you’re going through, which you call a curve, an end, or a challenge, is not the end.

Has life ever thrown you a curveball? Have you ever gone through a season where you don’t understand what God is doing? This is not the end; this is just a bend. This is not the end; this is just a curve, and God knows how to move you from point A to point B. Look at somebody and tell them, «I’m going to the next dimension.» This is why I told you to do a peer check. Look at your other neighbor and tell them, «I’m going to the other dimension.» I’m just going to watch and see how many people did that!

Look at your neighbor and tell them, «I’m going to the other dimension.» If you don’t have a neighbor encouraging you this morning, then beat your chest and tell yourself, «I’m going to the other dimension.» You can stay here; you can stay on this level, but I’m going to the other dimension. You don’t have to congratulate me; that’s fine. You can stay here, but I am overdue for a breakthrough. I am overdue for a healing. I am overdue for a promotion. I’m probably overdue for whatever you’re believing God for this morning. I am overdue for it.
