Romans 12:2 - do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. The renewed mind lives and operates from the inner awareness of the mind of Christ and comes through the encounter. The heart is capable of a response before the mind can understand. Lord requires a heart response before mental agreement, heart response says surrender while the mind response says agreement. Many have come into mental agreement, but not personal transformation because it didn't begin with surrender.

Romans 6:11 - consider yourself to be dead to sin. Dead people do not make bad choices. The death of Christ was sufficient to make sin a non issue. Not only is it a settled issue, the deception is thinking that we live in battle with our old nature. You have to believe a lie to sin once you are born-again.
