David Diga Hernandez - Faith for the Impossible

Just forget about whatever it is that’s troubling you right now, whatever birds you’re watching this program with, whatever’s in your mind, and whatever is your life that perhaps is hindering you from being able to focus on Facebook. Jesus, I want you to let all of that fade into forgetfulness and sing with all that you are, with everything from the bottom of your heart. I want you to join Steven as he sings «I Surrender All,» and when you do, just give it all to God. Release it all to Him and open your heart to receive the message that’s been unleashed. Faith is going to cause the impossible to occur in your life and lead to your blessing. There are, sir, all to Thee, O Lord, all to Thee, blessed Savior.

Mark chapter 5, verse number 24: «The scripture says this: Jesus went with him, and all the people followed, crowding around him. A woman in the crowd had suffered for twelve years with constant bleeding. She had endured a great deal from many doctors, and over the years she had spent everything she had to pay them, but she had gotten no better; in fact, she had gotten worse. She had heard about Jesus, so she came up behind Him through the crowd and touched His robe, for she thought to herself, 'If I can just touch the fringe of His robe or the hem of His garment, I will be healed.' Immediately, the bleeding stopped, and she could feel in her body that she had been healed of her terrible condition. Jesus realized at once that healing power had gone out from Him, so He turned around in the crowd and asked, 'Who touched my robe? ' His disciples said to Him, 'Look at this crowd pressing around you. How can you ask, „Who touched me?"' But He kept on looking around to see who had done it. Then the frightened woman, trembling at the realization of what had happened to her, came and fell to her knees in front of Him and told Him what she had done. He said to her, 'Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace; your suffering is over.'

The scripture tells us about this woman who had an issue with blood. She bled for twelve years, and we also know from the Old Testament, particularly from Levitical law, that if someone was bleeding constantly, they were considered unclean and were to be separated; they were looked upon as someone who must be avoided. This woman not only suffered from the pain of the bleeding but also from the weakness it caused. Additionally, she dealt with the shame of being rejected and considered second-class in that world. She was looked down upon, rejected, despised, and discouraged. The scripture says that she spent all that she had trying to get better. She paid doctors, physicians, and experts. How many times do you think this woman was told, «Oh, this is the moment. This is the time you’re going to be healed»? Each time she spent her money, she was not only giving them her funds but also depositing her hope. She placed her faith, hope, and trust into these experts and medical professionals of the time who claimed they could help her.

So, she faced not only shame, pain, and rejection but also expenses and the constant disappointment of having her hopes raised, only to see them come crashing down again. This woman encountered setback after setback, and just when things looked like they were about to get better, the scripture says they grew worse. Just when she gave all that she had toward it, she had nothing else to show for it—she wasn’t healed, and she wasn’t any better. Rather than achieving what she hoped for, things began to go in the opposite direction.

Has this happened to you? Have you been believing God for something and putting your faith, hope, trust, resources, time, effort, and enthusiasm into this thing? Even though you’re praying, believing, and being faithful, it seems that not only are things not getting better, but, from your perspective, it looks like things are getting worse. In fact, the solution seems further away than ever before; the answer appears harder to find, and the destination seems distant. It’s as if the cliché has come true for you: you take one step forward only to take two steps back. This is where this woman was. Not only had she dealt with this issue for years—because many times we can become discouraged—but you can have a bad month, a bad week, or even a bad day, and it’s astounding how easily we can become disheartened. The moment something goes wrong…
