David Diga Hernandez - Stepping into the Call of God

Hello, David Diga Hernandez here, and welcome to Spirit Church. Today, I’m going to be talking about the call of God. I want you to know that God has placed a call on your life, and today we will look at Isaiah chapter 6. We will study when God called Isaiah the prophet, and then we will draw some truths from it that I believe will help you pursue the call of God on your life, as well as recognize the call of God in your life. There are many who are watching, I believe, who are battling and struggling in their hearts and minds to believe that God has called them. But I want to pray that this doubt is cast aside today, and we will believe God for a breakthrough in your life. We are going to believe that God will begin to use your life greatly from this day forward, so stay tuned for that.

Right now, Stephen Moctezuma is here with us. He will lead you first in worship. As you sing that song today, I pray that everything within you is truly surrendering to the will of God. We will look at Isaiah chapter 6 and examine the call of Isaiah. As we read this story, I believe that God will begin to speak to you. Let me say this right off the bat: I want to dispel anything that the enemy may be using to assault your mind. He may be lying to you, telling you that you don’t have a call on your life. Let me tell you something: if you are watching this video and can hear what I’m saying now, God has called you to do something special for Him—something that only you can do. No one else on this earth can fulfill the destiny that God has placed on your life. You are the only one who can do what God has called you to do.

You may look at your life and say, «Lord, I don’t have much. I don’t have talent. I can’t speak. I can’t sing. I can’t think of anything specific.» Nothing particular comes to mind; you can’t imagine what you might be able to do for His glory. I want you to know that God has given you something. He has placed something in your hands. If nothing else, you may not have any talent, but you do have time. You may not have apparent talent, but you possess influence. God has given you something, and I like to say that your purpose is linked with your passion. In other words, if there is a passion that burns in your heart, I believe it is part of the plan God has for your life.

When there is a passion to do something, when there is a passion to sing, or when you have a passion for something—let’s take for example the people working here. There are individuals here who are passionate about working behind a camera. You just heard Stephen Moctezuma sing. You may have a passion for worship; you see me teaching the Word, and you may have a passion for teaching God’s Word. Whatever it may be, it’s not limited to those things. God has placed something in you. He has given you a talent. He has put a gift in you for you to use for His glory.

So let’s start on the right foot and get to the truth of the matter: God has placed something within you. The enemy will fight you hard on this. He will work tirelessly to discourage you, telling you that there is nothing you can do for God. I am here to tell you the truth. The scripture says that God has given each one a gift. Just study 1 Corinthians chapter 12 and 1 Corinthians chapter 14, and you will see that as a member of the body of Christ, you serve a very specific, important, and real purpose. You are not on this earth without a purpose. If there is breath within you and life within you, then there is purpose within you.

So let’s dispel the lies of the enemy. Now, this isn’t merely a message about believing that there’s a call of God on your life. I don’t believe in coincidence. It is not by accident that you are watching this video today because God has placed a call on your life. Now let’s look to the scripture in Isaiah chapter 6. As we examine this passage, you may find that as you begin to obey the Word of God and follow the example of Isaiah, the call of God will become clearer before your eyes than ever before. It is quite possible that after hearing this lesson, the call of God will be vividly clear before you, and you’ll see as sharply as possible the image of what God has called you to do. I believe it. Now let’s get into the Word. Isaiah chapter 6 says this: «In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a lofty throne.» The scripture in the King James Version puts it, «high and lifted up,» and the train of His robe filled the temple.
