I want you to prepare your heart now because we’re about to get into the Word. I’m going to talk to you about knowing the depths of Christ. I want to pray with you before we begin. Normally, I wait to pray until toward the end of the Spirit Church broadcast, and we will pray again then, too. However, something in my heart tells me that many of you watching this are coming to this video tired and frustrated. There’s a lot weighing on your shoulders right now, and everything within you wants to connect with the Lord. You’re saying, «Lord Jesus, I want to know you in greater depths; I desire to understand who you are more and more. I want to step into a closer relationship with you. I want to go further on this journey with you than I ever have before.» But you’re hindered right now because there’s so much on your mind, so much coming against you, so much that can distract you. I want to pray with you that the God of all peace, the Prince of Peace, would touch your life right now, bringing calm in the midst of chaos and confidence in the areas where you feel weakest. So, Holy Spirit, I pray for that one watching right now in Jesus' name. I pray that you help settle the heart, mind, and soul. Lord, let every thought that exalts itself against the knowledge of God be brought down into captivity in Jesus' name. Lord, let the frustration, anger, doubt, and fear all fade away now in the precious name of Jesus. We pray, and I want you to say it: say Amen; that means you agree. Now, we’re going to get into this.

We are living in interesting times, with a lot going on right now. But whatever you think about what’s happening, I want to remind you that God is in control and nothing can happen to upset the kingdom of God here on earth. I do not become bothered when the world is the world. I don’t become fearful when wicked people in government, rulership, or any form of authority choose to make decisions contrary to His Word. It was on my heart to minister this message because many desire to know Christ in greater depths. Now, let me tell you something: now more than ever before, it’s crucial that we become rooted in Jesus. Especially in these times, it’s important to understand the nature of Christ, to understand the person we are talking about—God, the one who spoke all of reality into existence. When you are grounded in Him, it’s impossible—let me tell you something—it’s impossible to be swept away by demonic doctrines when you’re rooted in Christ Jesus. So, especially in these times, it’s vital for believers to become more rooted than ever.

I’m excited about everything happening in the world. Many people are afraid. You talk about what’s going on with ISIS, Greece’s economic instability, and here in the United States where the Supreme Court just legalized same-sex marriage in all 50 states. You talk about rampant abortion in this nation and a changing, growing culture, and it can become somewhat intimidating if you forget who we are: the Church of the Living God. The truth has prevailed through kingdoms, civilizations, nations, and even rulers who tried to oppress it. The truth can never be silenced. It’s interesting that believers are finding the world has shifted from loving us or tolerating us to attacking us. In other words, the church has gone through three phases just in the past several decades: we have been calibrated, tolerated, and now hated. Jesus said this would happen, so it doesn’t concern me when people do such things. Here’s the truth: God is setting the nation up. This is how God sets things up for a great awakening; this is how He sets up nations for the revival He has planned for them. It’s like chess pieces on a board, and God has everything set. He’s going to move sovereignly in this nation. Let me tell you something: if Abraham had found ten righteous in the land, God would have spared that land. In this land, there are more than ten righteous. You and I are the preservation of nations; we are the salt of the earth. As long as we are here, there is hope for a turning, hope for renewal, hope for awakening. I say all this because it relates to what I’m talking about. I don’t want to sound hateful. Let me say this because people may want very direct responses from me.
