David Diga Hernandez - 5 Miracles to Expect from the Holy Spirit's Presence and Power

Hello, this is David Diga Hernandez, and you’re watching Spirit Church here on the Encounter TV Network. Miracles still happen today, and they should be a regular part of your life. The key to miracles is the presence of the Holy Spirit. Being in the Healing Ministry, I’ve had the privilege of watching the power of the Holy Spirit at work. Now let me begin by saying this: I believe in laying hands on the sick to see them recover. Laying hands on the sick is both a biblical and an effective way to minister God’s healing power to His people. But if you come to our Miracle Services, you’ll notice that we do things just a little bit differently.

When you come to a service, you’ll see that rather than laying hands on every single sick person, what I do instead is begin to minister the Word of God. I start to talk about Jesus, the Healer; I begin to speak about Jesus, the Miracle Worker. As I preach that word, faith is stirred in the hearts of the people—not because of my words, but because faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. The Word of God produces faith for what it promises. So when I minister the Word, the person of Jesus becomes the focus, and the attention of the room shifts. People forget about who they came with, and they begin to focus on the presence of Jesus.

Now, when you focus on the presence of Jesus, the presence and power of the Holy Spirit intensifies or manifests. The presence and power of the Holy Spirit are always with you; He doesn’t come and go, but abides with you. However, when you put your attention on that presence, it can cause His presence and power to manifest in a tangible way. People report feeling the presence and power of the Holy Spirit in our meetings. They often say they feel a weight coming upon them; some say they feel like fire warming up their bodies, enveloping them in flames. Others describe feeling like electricity pulsing up and down their beings.

People report all sorts of different physical manifestations of the power of the Holy Spirit, and in that moment, I simply point people to Jesus, and the room begins to worship Him. As we begin to adore Jesus, the power of God manifests, and people start getting healed all over the room. Whenever you glorify Jesus, the power of the Holy Spirit shows up, and people begin to experience healing all around. Someone who could not see suddenly begins to see; someone who could not hear begins to hear. Paralysis is healed, skin diseases are healed, tumors disappear, and people come out of wheelchairs. Why? Because of the presence and the power of the Holy Spirit.

This is not a formula; it’s not a technique or a gimmick. It’s not man-made; it is simply the presence of the Holy Spirit manifesting in the room, and it’s just that simple. Remember this: whatever is truly spiritual in nature will always be simple, though it’s not always easy. Whatever is religious in nature will always be tedious, complex, and burdensome. Why? Because it’s man’s attempt to produce the power of God. We can’t do that. We have no power to produce power; we have no ability to cause miracles. It’s just that simple.

People often ask, «What’s the key? What’s the secret? How do we get miracles to happen?» I’m telling you, it’s as simple as faith in the Word of God and the power and presence of the Holy Spirit manifesting. That’s it. You ask Him in simple faith. The Bible says this in Galatians 3:5: «I ask you again: Does God give you the Holy Spirit and work miracles among you because you obey the law?» Of course not! It is because you believe the message you heard about Christ.

So, we see two ingredients here for the miraculous: number one, the Holy Spirit is the one working the miracles; but number two, the Scripture says it is because you believe the message. Simple faith—only believe. All things are possible. Only believe; it’s the power of the Holy Spirit meeting your faith and mine.

Now, in that moment when the presence and power of the Holy Spirit meet our faith, miracles abound, and different kinds of miracles abound. Number one: the presence of the Holy Spirit brings miracles of protection. Luke 4:28 says this: «When they heard this, the people in the synagogue were furious; jumping up, they mobbed Him and forced Him to the edge of the hill on which the town was built. They intended to push Him over the cliff.» This is Jesus they’re trying to push off the cliff, but He passed right through the crowd and went on His way.

Now think about this: Jesus is cornered, the mob—those who were angry with Him—try to push Him over the cliff, and He just passes right through them, as the Scripture says. Then, very casually, He went on His way. I can picture them, really angry, trying to throw Him off the edge of that cliff, and they can’t even grab hold of Him. Why? Because of the protection of the Holy Spirit.

I remember one time I went camping with my uncle, and it was a very hot summer, so we were in shorts and hiking through the woods. I just so happened to walk through a bunch of poison ivy. Now, I’m not an outdoors person, so I had no idea what I was walking through, and by the time my uncle realized what I was walking through, it was too late.
