David Diga Hernandez - The Tangible Anointing of the Holy Spirit
On this edition of Spirit Church, David Diga Hernandez shares about the supernatural physical manifestation of God’s Holy Spirit’s power. Many are reporting having encounters with God while watching this.
So, as I said, I’m talking about the tangible power of the Holy Spirit, or the tangible anointing. Now, when I say tangible, I mean physical; I mean the manifested power of God that can be sensed upon your physical body. While I’m going to be teaching on the tangible power of God, it’s important that you remember that feeling God’s presence isn’t as important as believing that the presence of God is with you. We walk by faith and not by feelings. So, in no way am I trying to create an emphasis on feelings or physical sensations that we shouldn’t have, but still, I think it is essential to address the fact that the power of the Holy Spirit can be tangible. The anointing can be tangible; that is the power of God. You can physically feel the power of the Holy Spirit. If you’ve ever been to one of our services, then you know that the power of the Holy Spirit can be felt tangibly during worship. As we seek the face of Jesus, the power of the Holy Spirit will manifest to such a degree that people begin to feel Him throughout the room. Some people describe a weight coming upon them; some feel heat emanating from them; some even feel electricity pulsing up and down their bodies. When it gets especially intense at those services, people report having trouble getting near the platform. The ushers and my ministry team will tell you that when the anointing becomes that tangible, they feel something emanating from me, from the platform. Now, I’m by no means saying that this has anything to do with me. I like to say that it’s not me; it’s who is around me. There is nothing special about me; there is someone special about me, and that’s the presence of the Holy Spirit. But still, in those services, when I feel the tangible power of God come upon my physical body, I can feel the heat emanating from me; I can feel electricity radiating off of me. People who come onto the platform say that the moment they step on it, they have trouble standing; their bodies begin to tremble, and they can feel the weight coming upon them. This is the power of the Holy Spirit; it’s not the work of man. No man should receive the glory; it’s the manifested presence of the Holy Spirit. As I said, feelings themselves should not be our pursuit; we should not chase feelings as if they are important to our relationship with God. But you must realize that when you pursue the presence of the Lord, when you seek an audience with God, and when you strive for a deeper relationship with Him, there will be moments where the presence of the Holy Spirit manifests tangibly. If I haven’t emphasized it enough already, I want to stress again that feelings are not the goal. However, you will sense the presence of the Holy Spirit at specific moments, especially during times when the power of God is manifested. Sometimes you will feel Him, and sometimes you won’t, but this doesn’t mean that His power comes and goes. It just means that it is revealed and then concealed; it’s manifested and then retreats to the place where we are not feeling it. So, the power of the Holy Spirit is in us; the power of the Holy Spirit is all around us, wherever we go, because we’re filled with the Holy Spirit. But there are those moments when the power is physically felt, and that’s called a power manifestation, meaning that power becomes tangible, and we become aware of that power which is already there. Now, I do need to tell you, though, that sometimes people are so desperate to experience the power of God that their desire for an encounter with the tangible power of God can itself become a distraction and an obstruction to receiving an encounter with the Lord. So again, I say the presence of the Holy Spirit abides with you; He does not come and go; He remains in you faithfully. Jesus said, «I’ll send you another, and He will never leave you.» He was speaking of the Holy Spirit. So the Holy Spirit comes alive and dwells in you, and He does not come and go. But there are moments when you become more aware of His presence, and in those moments of keen awareness in the spirit, you can physically begin to feel His power. And again, this is not the overall emphasis that I have, but this is what I’m teaching on right now, which is why I’m discussing it. Some people might say, «Well, why are you focusing on that if it’s not the purpose?» It’s because I want to show you that it’s biblical, and since I’m addressing the topic, obviously, I must talk about these things. It is important that we know that these encounters are available to us along our spiritual journey. First of all, we see this happen with Elijah’s bones, which is found in 2nd Kings, chapter 13, verses 20 and 21. Listen to this: «Then Elisha died and was buried. Groups of Moabite raiders used to invade the land each spring. Once, when some Israelites were burying a man, they spied a band of these raiders, so they hastily threw the corpse into the tomb of Elijah and fled. But as soon as the body touched Elijah’s bones, the dead man revived and jumped to his feet.» So, Elijah’s bones carried the tangible power of God, that residue of God’s power. Now, by no means am I endorsing this term that people use called «grave sucking,» where you go to somebody’s grave…
