In Luke chapter fourteen, and verses thirty four and thirty five, Jesus tells a parable, which is sometimes not considered a “parable.” But remember, parables are types of analogies. This time we’re talking about The Parable of Being the Salt. Two short verses with a lot of powerful meaning!

In Luke 14, a comparison between salt and the Christian life is made. This parable highlights the Believer’s role as the “salt of the earth”, both purifying and preserving the world against the rotting effects of sin.
