God told me to tell you to tell them, «Blame It On The Rain.» That 's what I’m going to talk about today: Blame It On The Rain. You may be seated in the presence of the Lord. Blame it! Don 't be mad at me; just blame it. Blame it on the rain. If we’re being honest, all of life is a battle. Raise your hand if you’re in a fight right now. From the womb to the tomb, you have to fight to be born; you might have to fight to die. You have to fight to pay bills. You get into a relationship and didn’t know you had to fight in it. You give birth to kids and didn’t know you were going to have to fight with them. Some of y’all had to fight for a parking spot; you got to fight to pay your bills. You have to fight to be happy; you have to fight to be depressed. You have to fight not to feel insecure. You have to fight to keep your past off you. You have to fight to prevent your trauma from taking you out. It 's just a fight! All of life is a fight, and the quicker you understand that there is no escape from the battle, the quicker you will settle in and recognize that this is part of the journey. You don’t get to write the script because you’re not the producer; you are a hired actor in a script that was written before you were formed in your mother’s womb. Hurricane Barrel was planned in eternity’s past. We only experienced a storm that God had already seen, and He knew the path of the storm. It is not His fault we built in its path; it was going that way whether our church was there or a tree was there. Just par for the course! This is how God does things: it rains on the just, right? It rains on the unjust, and all of life is a fight for territory. The moment you stop fighting for what you want, what you don’t want starts to take over. Touch your neighbor and tell them, «I’m in a fight; I’m in a fight.» As opposed to trying to eliminate the grind, I want you to switch to a mentality that focuses on gaining ground. Zig Ziglar said that when most people face fearful situations, they forget everything and run, but there are a few of us who face everything and rise. I am of the belief that no weapon formed against us will be able to prosper. Are you with me? Isaiah said that when the enemy comes in like a flood, then the Spirit of the Lord raises up a standard. That word «standard» doesn’t mean what it means in our English vernacular. In the original context, when the Bible says that God will raise up a standard, it does not refer to a level or quality. When the Bible says He will raise up a standard, He is making a reference to fighting in historical times. Whenever a nation was ready for battle, they raised a flag. If you look in the back of this building, there is a flag. Whenever the United States of America loses a soldier, it lowers a flag, and whenever it honors that soldier, it raises a flag. Because when you raise a flag or a standard, you are actually saying, «I’m ready for battle.» So when the Bible says that the enemy comes in like a flood and the Lord raises up a standard, it is God’s way of saying that when the enemy comes after you, I’ll join the fight with you. Now, I don’t know about you, but I would tell all of my enemies, «You don’t want to fight me.» But if you do, you might win, but if my God gets involved… Oh! Has anybody ever been in a battle with God? And it looked like you were losing, and it seemed like you were atrophying, and it appeared that the enemy was winning, and then God somehow showed up and let you know, «No, no, no, I got this.» Sometimes you got to be still and see the salvation of the Lord. Touch three people and say, «Be still! Be still!» No, no, we’re in a battle. We’re in a battle; we’re in a fight, and God says, «I will enter the fight with you.» I think that’s what the songwriter meant when he said, «With Jesus on my side, I can make it.» With Him, I know I can stand, no matter what comes my way. My life-y’all don’t know that one-my life is in His hands! Just say this out loud so that you believe it: just shout, «We’re going to make it! We’re going to make it!» That was cute; that was cute. And I see about 50% of y’all didn’t say it because you don’t believe it. So, to the 50% of you who do believe it, I want you to say it until you irritate the people who don’t believe it. Just shout, «We’re going to make it!» Yeah, we’re going to make it! Now, I know what’s wrong. I know what’s wrong. Some of y’all are hood like me, saying, «We gonna make it!» Yeah, this isn 't the time to be proper; we gonna make it! We gonna make it! Ty Tribbett said, «We gonna be alright.» Listen, we are going to make it. I need the hood folk in here to just touch someone and say, «We gonna make it. I promise you!» The reason I know we gonna make it is because if He did it before, He will… Yeah, we gonna make it.
