[spoiler]Touch somebody and say, «It’s all about the Benjamins.» You may be seated in the presence of the Lord. It has been about 20 years since Jacob has seen his son Joseph. Remember, his brothers threw him in a pit. What do we mean by pit? An empty cistern; it was a well that used to have water. They threw him into something that used to have water, so technically, they threw him into a dry place. Now, he came from a wealthy place, wearing a purple coat; he was dressed in wealth when he arrived. They took the coat from him as an indicator that they were taking his position. If you’re here by the end of the sermon, you’ll find out it didn’t work. By the time we get to this text, Joseph is second in command, not in Canaan but in Egypt. You don’t understand-that’s like being born in America and becoming the president of Nigeria. It’s theoretically impossible. First of all, he has no citizenship; he has no visa, he has no green card, he has no birthright, and yet he is vice president in a place where he was not born and is unwelcome. What are you going to do when you are in charge of a place that doesn’t want you? You see, most of us suffer from the anxiety of not being wanted when we arrive, but sometimes God will allow you to go into a place where you’re unwelcome to show all of those who did not welcome you that they should have because they had no idea what God was going to do with you in this place. Y’all got time today? The reason why they are in Egypt is because there is a shortage of bread in Canaan. The Bible says there is a famine in the land. Now go back and read it from a historical standpoint. There isn’t just a famine in the land; there is a famine in both of the lands. There is a famine in Canaan and a famine in Egypt, but Egypt has been so rich over the years that the famine can’t touch them. Did you hear what I just said? You can be in a position where things can dry up, and it won 't touch you. That inflation can swell, but it won 't touch you. There can be a housing crisis, and homes are unavailable, but when you decide it’s your time to buy, it can’t touch you. That 50% of marriages can end in divorce, but it won’t touch you. That people in their 60s are in the hospital looking at scans and cell deformation, but it won’t touch you. Tell somebody, «It ain’t going to touch me!» I don’t care what they do in the White House; it ain’t going to touch me. I don’t care who gets elected next; it won’t touch me. I don’t care what happens to the economy; it might touch you, but it ain’t going to touch me. Oh God, it ain’t going to touch me. I don’t know what’s happening across the street, but I know what’s going to happen on my street. I don’t know what’s happening in that state; I know what’s going to happen in my state. I don’t know what’s going to happen with your children; I know what’s going to happen to my children. Let me tell you ahead of time, it ain’t going to touch me. There was a famine in Canaan and in Egypt; they’re going to be in between. So there is a famine where they are and a famine where they’re going. Sometimes God will do that-he’ll dry it up in front of you and he’ll dry it up behind you to find out if you’ll trust him where you are. I just want to know who’s in the room today that can testify: «It’s a famine where I am, and it looks like it’s a famine where I’m going, but my hope ain’t built on the past; my hope isn’t built on the future; my hope is built on nothing less.» There 's trouble where I’m going; there’s trouble where I am, but it ain’t going to touch me. 2024 ain’t looking so good, but I don’t know about you; it ain’t going to touch me. I know they say there’s a resurgence of COVID- 19, and that may be true. I pray for all of those who may have to go through it, but a thousand shall fall at my side, and ten thousand at my right hand, but it won’t! I feel the Holy Ghost! Somebody shout, «It won’t touch me! It won’t touch me!» Matter of fact, I want you to touch somebody. Yeah, and tell them that touch is a touch to make sure that it won’t touch you! That 's why you better make sure you 're sitting next to the right person. You better make sure you 're next to somebody who has the right touch. Come on, I need you next to somebody that if they touch you, demons will tremble! That if they touch you, the famine! I’m talking to you at home! The famine exposed several things. First of all, the famine showed Jacob that his son was not dead. Then the Lord told me that famines are revealers.[spoiler]
