Faith is not just when we believe God for things; it is what we do and how we wait before the things we believe God for manifests. God often hides his progress in process and we have to learn how to trust the process if we must embrace the promise. In Jeremiah 18, God likens Himself to the potter and we are the clay. The clay might not always understand the pinch of the potters hands, but it has to trust the pulse of the potters heart. In this sermon, you will realize that God knows what He is doing and He cannot mismanage our lives.
On your way to you, say, «Look at someone and say, 'I know what I’m doing; I know what I’m doing.'» Look at the other neighbor and tell them, «Trust the process, trust the process, trust the process, trust the process.» Our text starts with God telling Jeremiah to go down to the potter’s house. I want you to notice that God did not tell Jeremiah to go up; He told Jeremiah to go down. I know down has a negative connotation, but you have to understand that the only ball that can bounce is the ball that hits the ground. So sometimes God has to reduce you to reuse you, so you have to figure that out. Sometimes there is nothing; the Bible actually says that a corn of wheat has to fall to the ground, and unless it falls to the ground and dies, it remains alone. There will be no resurrection if Jesus did not go down. Watch this: Everything God spoke into creation—the birds, the Earth, the sun, the moon, the trees—everything He spoke into creation, He called it good. But when it came to man, He had to stoop down; He went into the dirt; He went down and created man from the dust of the ground, and He called man blessed, not just good. There is a difference between good and blessed. You are not just good; you are blessed! So help me; look at your neighbor, eye to eye, and tell them, «Do you know that you are blessed?» Look at the other neighbor and tell them, «Do you know that you are blessed?» You might not look like what I have in mind, but I can still blow your mind. Do you know that you are blessed? You might not like the way I walk, but I’m still blessed. You might not like the way I talk, but I’m still blessed. You might not like the way I shout, but I’m still blessed. You might not like the way I praise God, but I’m still blessed. Look at your neighbor and tell them, «I’m still blessed anyway.» Yes, as I started this text, I noticed, Pastor, that the potter did not invite Jeremiah to his house—God did. God did! But when Jeremiah showed up, do you know the potter did not tell Jeremiah to leave? Because when God opens a door for you, no man can shut that door; even the owners cannot shut you out. I have a feeling in my spirit that God is about to open a door that no man can shut. God is about to open rooms that no one can shut. What I hear in my spirit is «access granted, access granted, access granted, access granted"—new rooms, new jobs, new contracts, new open doors. If you believe it, say, «I hear you!» Although Jeremiah was a prophet, his gift was speaking; he was God’s masterpiece. God told him, «Jeremiah, I’m not sending you to speak My words; I’m sending you to hear My words. The mouth is to the prophet what the hands are to the potter.» And here you have Jeremiah, as powerful, gifted, and anointed as he is. God told Jeremiah, «I want you to go there, sit there, and just observe.» God, do you know who I am? I am Jeremiah; I am the prophet. God says silence is part of My strategy, and sometimes you just have to observe. How is it possible that I’m so powerful and so gifted? God says, «I don’t need you to speak to the potter; I need what the potter is doing to speak to you.» Listen to me, church: If you don’t take note of what people are doing, nobody will ever take note of you. The problem is that you keep doing things; you keep speaking. It’s all about you; you think you have to be on stage always. You need to understand that faith comes by hearing, not by speaking. You are doing so much speaking that you’re not building your faith; you’re draining your faith. Sometimes you have to keep your mouth shut because the Bible says, «Write the vision, make it plain.» Don’t tell the vision; write the vision; it will speak. You don’t have to be vocal to be global; everything should not be on social media. You are not a publicist. Let your response be your result, and let your results be your response. I don’t know about you, but God says to tell you that this is a season where you are going to be hidden. Some of you are trying to come out into the spotlight, and God is saying, «I know you’re Jeremiah, but you can still be in the potter’s house and be silent, and it can still be your season.» Jeremiah was gifted and talented, and yet he was just silent. Can I say something to you, church? Do you know that you can be silent and still be in your season? Woo! You don’t have to be seen; just because you’re silent doesn’t mean you are not in your season. We don’t know where Jesus was from age 12 to 30, yet He was still in His season. You don’t have to struggle for the spotlight; if you are the spotlight, we don’t know where Jesus was. You don’t have to be well-known to be well-blessed; you don’t have to be famous to be fruitful; you don’t have to be popular to be powerful. God can still bless you regardless. You don’t have to be on stage to be in the center of God’s will for your life. You can be a Jeremiah and still be there observing, and it can still be your season, and herein lies the problem because we…
