Rhema Ehiemere - This Is a Blank Check

After Solomon offered a thousand burnt offerings in 1 Kings 3:1-15, God told him to ask for whatever he wants. This was a blank check God gave Solomon. What will you do if God gave you a blank check like He did for Solomon? Well, God already did, but He went an extra step, He gave us the check book. But that was not enough, so He went ahead to make us cosignatories to the bank account as joint-heirs and gave us Himself when He gave us Jesus. Today, you can ask God for whatever you need, including wisdom that is the principal thing but you don’t have to ask just once. You can ask as many times as you want because God has a blank check for you every single day.

On your way to your seat, look at your neighbor and tell them, «This is a blank check. This is a blank check.» You know, the current world population, as of last night, is about 8.1 billion. Think about it: about 8.1 billion people are currently living in the world today. The current world population is 8.1 billion people. And guess what? I was thinking about this, and it also said in that article that there are about 6.8 billion smartphones in circulation. So that means roughly about 85% of the world’s population has a smartphone. Why is this important? Because I’ve come to realize that there is a difference, Kyle, between being smart and being wise. It seems like the smarter our phones become, the poorer the decisions we make. We have all this information, but we have no revelation. What is the disconnect here? I thought about this. Why is there a disconnect? Listen, all of life’s challenges, all of life’s crises, everything you’re facing in life can be narrowed down to the absence of two things. Whenever you see repetitive cycles, setbacks, and struggles in your life, it can be narrowed down to two things: the absence of the wisdom of God, or the absence of the power of God. Listen, if you can grasp this, then you’re good to go. All of the challenges you’ve been facing in life are indicative of the wisdom of God and the power of God that is not present in your life. This was the secret of Jesus. As I thought about this, it dawned on me that this was the secret of Jesus. Throughout the life of Jesus, we see Him operating and juggling between wisdom and power. Just stay with me for a second. The Bible says in 1 Corinthians, I believe chapter 1, verse 24, that Jesus is the power and the wisdom of God. Why is this important? Because throughout the life of Jesus, He was successful because He embodied both power and wisdom. We see the power of Jesus when He walked on water, but we see the wisdom of Jesus when He began to teach in the synagogues. We observe the power of Jesus when He cast out demons, but we recognize the wisdom of Jesus when they brought a woman caught in the act of adultery to Him, and He said, «If you are without sin, cast the first stone.» We see the wisdom of Jesus when He always healed and cast out lepers. We see all of that, but we also witness His power when He raised the dead. We see His power and wisdom when they asked Him, «Who should we pay taxes to?» and He replied, «Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s.» We observe His power when He said, «I can do something about the 5,000 people, but do you have five loaves and two fish?» That’s the power of God on display. The wisdom of God, however, says, «Don’t waste; gather up the fragments because your riches may lie in your leftovers.» So gather up the fragments, and there were twelve baskets left over. That’s the wisdom of God. We see His power when He resurrected from the dead, but we see His wisdom when He told Judas, «Whatever you have to do, do it quickly.» He didn’t even respond to those who crucified Him. Throughout Scripture, we see the wisdom and power of God, and the reason we are where we are today is that we are lopsided. We are infatuated with and attracted to the power of God, not the wisdom of God. Stay with me. We are fascinated by the power of God but not the wisdom of God. Oh, this is why we are easily deceived, easily discouraged, and easily misled. You know why? Because we fail to realize that the enemy understands that you are addicted, intoxicated, and drunk with power. Guess what? The enemy understands that while he can duplicate or imitate power, he cannot imitate wisdom. Pastor, can you prove it? I’m glad you asked. In Exodus 7, Moses shows up and tells Pharaoh, «Let my people go.» Pharaoh said, «Why?» Moses brought out his rod, cast it on the ground, and the rod became a serpent. Pharaoh said, «Is that all you got?» He called his wise men and asked if they could do exactly what Moses did, and they did. But contrast this with Daniel chapter 4. The king had a dream he could not interpret; he called all his wise men and asked, «Can you interpret the dream?» They said, «Sorry, we can imitate power but not this wisdom.» So they had to wait for someone with original wisdom, even though they were called wise men. When Daniel came, he was filled with wisdom. I’m trying to let you know that in this season of your life…
