Pastor Robert takes a closer look at what it means to be good and shares why God's grace far outweighs the goodness we try to achieve on our own.
1. Good is good. Consider whether something in your life is good or perfect. Pastor Robert shared a personal example of a cleaning job and his wife. It might not seem perfect, but it might be a good gift from God that is perfect for you. James 1:17 tells us “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father.”
2. Grace is good. With men, salvation is impossible. But with God, salvation is possible for all! On our own, we cannot be good enough to get to heaven. We need a savior, a perfect sacrifice, as described in Leviticus 22:21 and Exodus 12:5. Jesus is the perfect sacrifice, and through Him we find salvation (1 Peter 1:19).
3. God is good. Be aware of the anti-God movement that says God is not good. The Bible tells us differently. God is good. Since God is good, what He creates is also good. You might see yourself as not good enough, but God sees you with a father’s eyes. He created you. He sees you through His Son’s perfect sacrifice and says you are perfect.
