What do you value, and do you have the evidence to show for it? Our time, attention, and resources make a case for our priorities, but could it be we've become too distracted by the unnecessary to really focus on the "One thing that's needed"? Are we like Martha, in Luke 10, who had her eyes on the errands, or like Mary, who sat still as a servant at Jesus' feet? One was run down by stress, while the other was fed. That's what happens when we keep worrying about the dirty dishes in the sink; we miss out on an opportunity to have an encounter with God. Stop sweating the small stuff and focus on what matters instead!
