Dharius Daniels - Under Construction - Part 2

We’re in this series called «Under Construction,» and here’s what I want to remind you of: there is something that God wants to build in you, and there is something that God wants to build through you. I’m going to say that one more time: there is something that God wants to build in you, and there is something that God wants to build through you. Darius, why is God building something in me? Mentioned first, Darius, I know you speak in sequence; sequence matters, right? It’s not just what you say; it’s when you say it. Sequence matters. So, Darius, why did you say God wants to build something in me before you said God wants to build something through me? It’s because His ability to build something through you depends on Him building something in you. You have to become the kind of person that can build the kind of thing that God is calling you to build. I’m going to say that one more time: you must be the kind of person that can become the kind of person who can build the kind of thing that God wants to build through you. An indication of how great the thing is that He wants to build through you can be seen in all of the renovating and transforming work that He is doing in you. Is there anybody watching this right now who is just going to pause for the cause and say, «Well, God must be getting ready to build something big through me because of all this work He’s doing on me»? Does it make sense to me, huh? Is there anybody besides me? Have you ever been in a season where you felt like you weren’t perfect in an area, but you felt like you were perfected, developed, or matured in that area? And then God places you in a season and circumstance where He takes you—watch this—from maturation or maturity in that area to mastery in that area? Has anybody ever been in a season where you thought, «God, I thought I was, but you just keep humbling me»? God, I thought I was patient, but you just keep testing my patience. God, I thought I had temperance, self-control, but you keep letting these people test my resolve. Oh, my resolve got tested so many times last week. Thank you, Jesus! Woosa. Anyway, I’m back. But I want you to see this: sequence is important. God builds it in me before He builds it through me because He has to build me into the kind of person that can build that. So, if someone on here is saying, «What I’m sensing God wants me to build in this season is my marriage,» well, I want you to know it’s a certain kind of person that can build a certain kind of marriage that you believe God is calling you to build. You see, a selfish person can’t build that kind of marriage. A self-centered person can’t build that kind of marriage. A hypersensitive person can’t build that kind of marriage. Come on; a territorial person can’t build that kind of marriage. An insecure person can’t build that kind of marriage. And I’m not saying being territorial or insecure or hypersensitive is immoral or evil. What I am saying is that building the kind of marriage you want to build requires God to build you into the kind of person that can build that marriage. Come on, and talk to me! Maybe there’s a business that you believe you want to build. And this is what we believe about business: business is a delivery system for value. Business is one of the ways God answers the Lord’s Prayer: «Give us this day our daily bread.» Somebody ate today because somebody else started a business. Somebody created a store where you can go and get groceries. Somebody created a business where you can order from your phone. Somebody created a phone you can order from. Somebody created an app that went on the phone, and now you can pick up your phone, go to an app, and if you want some chicken and biscuits delivered to your home, you can have some chicken and biscuits delivered to your home! Come on and talk to me! Right? That happens because somebody starts a business. And in the Kingdom, we don’t define something by other people’s abuse of it. We know there’s abuse; there’s exploitation in the business sector, but I want you to know there’s abuse in every sector. There’s abuse in the church sector, and there’s exploitation in the business sector and the religious sector. So we don’t hand a sector over to the enemy; we infiltrate it, and we redeem it. But here’s the point I’m making: God can use business to act as a delivery system to add value to people. And some of you are sensing and seeing, «Man, there’s a business that God wants to build through me that’s going to solve some problems that exist in the world.» The healing ministry of Jesus that we see in the Gospels, with Jesus healing people physically, can be something, in principle, that is manifested in and through me and you—by us not only healing people but healing systems and sectors of society. Well, some of you are sensing this business burden that just won’t go away. And here it is.
