Good evening, good evening, good evening! Welcome to Tuesday night Bible study. Good evening, everybody! Thank you for joining us. I’m so glad to see you all; thank you for participating in our Bible study tonight. Let me make a quick announcement: going forward, we will start Bible study right at 7:00, as we normally do. We will dive directly into the teachings at that time, so please do your best to be present at 7 o’clock. We want to begin right with the word. I will also try to address any questions I was unable to respond to from the previous week. My goal is to ensure we maintain a pace that allows us to take our time and not rush through, so whenever we finish, we finish. This way, I can explain things clearly. I will strive to be articulate, even though I usually don’t consider myself an articulate person. I want to aim for clarity in what we cover tonight.
Now, let me start by praying quickly. Also, I want to give a shout-out to those tuning in from Connecticut, California, South Carolina, Virginia, New York, and many others from around the world. Thank you all for making the time in your schedules to join us. I know some of you are tuning in during your day, setting aside time for our Bible study, and I appreciate that. I thank the Lord for each of you.
Let 's pray. Father, we thank you for your loving kindness and your tender mercies. You are a great God, a wonderful Savior, and we appreciate your love. I pray that you would make this teaching clear and understandable to the people of God who have set aside their time to participate in this Bible study. Help us, Heavenly Father, to be your instruments and conduits in the name of the Lord Jesus. We also pray for a hedge of protection around this space, that there would be no distractions or distortions of truth. We pray for the families watching wherever they may be-at home, in their cars, or at work. Help everyone to gain revelation and clarity about your word, allowing it to accomplish what you intend. Thank you for the privilege and opportunity to be part of your kingdom. In Jesus' precious name, we pray, amen.
Once again, I want to give a shout-out to everyone tuning in from all over. I see Baytown, Texas; Louisiana; Detroit; Antioch, Tennessee; Philadelphia -people are joining us from everywhere. Thank you all for being a part of this study worldwide.
I have a few questions from last week that I’d like to address briefly. One of the questions posed was, «How do you hold people accountable without judging them?» That 's a great question. Let me start by defining what judging means. Judging is when a person makes an assessment or determination about someone without any facts or research to know the truth. It involves forming an opinion based solely on what they see without investigating the facts of the situation.
I often use this illustration: I remember when I was a teenager, driving home from my job when I picked up a friend from the community. He was walking home from his job and asked me to stop by the liquor store so he could cash his check. Since I wasn’t buying anything, I didn’t think much of it and agreed. However, as I pulled into the parking lot, I realized that someone might see my car there and assume I was buying liquor. I worried they would judge me without asking, spreading rumors that John Jenkins was at a liquor store. By the way, Saints, I have never taken a drop of liquor in my life.
So, I told my friend Billy, «Hey, let’s do this, bro. Let me pull over to the side of the road and let you out so you can go cash your check. I’ll wait here for you and then take you home .» Judging is when people make assessments without even seeking the facts.
