#537 - Joseph Prince - Jesus Draws Near When You Are Discouraged - Part 3

God gave up his Son for you. You see, you'll never know how much God loves you until you know how much God loved his Son, because he gave up his Son for you. And God loved his Son. Jesus said even, "My Father loves me. My Father never left me". And you know something? There are two times that the Father split the heavens, split the clouds, and said, "This is my beloved Son".

At the cross, Jesus looked up and, for the first time in his life, he cried, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me"? Search the Gospels. He never addressed his Father as "My God". That was the first time. It's always, "My Father, the Father, Abba, Father". This is the first time he looked up and said, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me"? So that you and I can say, "My Father, my Father, why have you so blessed me"?

Jesus hung on the cross and he took your sins and my sins upon himself, and the fire of God came on him because of our sins. The Bible says he absorbed it all and said, "It is finished"!
