I finally found my voice; that’s what I want to talk about. I found my voice. You may be seated in the presence of the Lord. Church, as I share with you very quickly, the day of Pentecost was a day of beginnings. One of the most important things that happened on the day of Pentecost was that the indwelling of the Holy Spirit was finally available to both the Jew and the Gentile. Are you with me? Amazingly enough, when God was looking for a tool to use to fix this issue, He did not grab a prophet, He did not grab a priest, and He did not grab a king. When He got ready to change the church, He grabbed a fisherman. Some people think that in order for God to use you, you have to be a CEO or maybe a deacon or maybe a minister or perhaps a prayer warrior. But how many of you know God will pick a fisherman? He’ll pick somebody sitting in the back row to change the entire game. He’ll pick someone whose name nobody knows and ensure that by the time it’s all over, everybody knows their name. Somebody shout, «He grabbed a fisherman!»

And despite his occupation-and I have to get through this because I feel more worship coming-despite his occupation, despite the fact that the job he now has requires a robe, a chain, and a cross, and all he has is some overalls; in spite of it all, he stood up in the uniform that he had and said what God told him to say. I don’t know who I’m talking to, but God says, «I’m going to use you in your current form. I’m not waiting on you to change. I’m not waiting on you to go back and get your degree. I’m not waiting on you to come out of your old life. I’m going to use you just like you are.» Touch somebody and say, «He’s going to use you just like you are.» I’m going to use you just like you are. I’m going to use you in your current set of circumstances. I’m going to use you with that current state of mind. I’m going to change all of that, but I want you to stand up in the position you are currently in.

Pentecost, which means 50, refers to the fact that it comes 50 days after the resurrection of Christ-seven weeks, to be exact. More importantly, this is one of the most significant Jewish holidays on the calendar; it was called the Feast of Weeks and the Feast of Harvest. When Pentecost is mentioned today, we don’t think of it as a date on the Jewish calendar; we think about Pentecost as it relates to the Holy Spirit and how it descended upon the church in Acts chapter 2 and filled everyone with the Holy Ghost. Now, I want you to hear what I’m getting ready to say: Not only were they filled with the Spirit, but they were given the ability-are you listening? -to speak in a language they didn’t previously know. Hear what I just said: they were filled with the Spirit and given the ability to speak in a language they did not previously know.

How many people in the room know more than one language? All right, well then you can attest to the fact that in order to learn another language that is not native to you, you have to read it, you have to write it, you have to listen to it, and you have to recite it. If you do any one of those things without the other three, you will be handicapped as it relates to the totality of the language. You have to read it, you have to listen to it, you have to speak it, and you have to do it over and over and over and over again. Somehow God-before Rosetta Stone, somehow God-before a translation app on an iPhone, there was another phone out there I don’t know the name of, but before God did any of those things, He was able to teach people a language without a mentor. He was able to teach people a language without a crash course. He was able to teach them the conjugation of verbs without a class, which means that God was able to help them do something that only He could help them do.

I feel like giving you something to shout about early! God says, «I’m about to do something in your life where the only answer to how you got it done is the Holy Ghost.» That 's enough, Arthur; I knew you were going to get it. I knew you were going to catch it, because I know you. Other people are going to say, «Because of my degree,» other people are going to say, «Because I finally matured,» other people are going to say, «Because I finally got married,» or «Because I finally got a raise on the job .» What 's about to happen to you is going to be so crazy and so amazing that when you have to explain how it happened, the only thing you’re going to be able to say is, «I’m waiting on y’all to catch up.» The only thing you’re going to be able to say is, «It was the Holy Ghost.» Just touch three people and say, «It was the Holy Ghost! It was the Holy Ghost!» In fact, if you 're honest, the only reason why you’re here today is because-how many people almost lost your mind in the last two years? But because of the Holy Ghost, how many of you almost gave up on God, gave up on the church, gave up on dating, and gave up...
