We’re in part two of a series on margin—how to balance your resources and responsibilities. As all my family arrives who were free before 11, but now you have to pay, we are going to warm you up and let people find their seats with some Mimosa music for Sunday brunch. We assign music hidden with the theme music. Hey, hey, ah! Ryan Wilson, I’m trying not to bob my head. How’s it going? They haven’t found their seats yet, so Brian Wilson will take it back. Can y’all sing it? Hit it! Don’t push it! P! Yeah! All my tide people, all my people who are close to the edge, all my people who are like, «Don’t play with me right now, don’t do it, don’t leave me alone, back up! Watch your mouth with the F word, watch your mouth, watch your mouth!» Hey, you ever had a kid, and you became disrespectful, and you follow the kid like, «Say it, say it, say it»? You know you’re too close to the edge when you’re following your kid around. «I dare you! I dare you! What did you say? What did you say?» Amen! I’m preaching to everybody here who’s close to the edge. Alright, Matthew chapter 11. If you have a Bible, Matthew chapter 11. I’m using the Good News Translation today, focusing on verses 28 to 30. If you are physically able to stand and want to look along with me in any kind of Bible device, manual, or digital, Matthew 11: 28-30. Hey, while you’re standing, please tell two people, «Good morning!» Just say good morning to two people. Actually, what time is it? Hey, mistake! Where we are right now on the East Coast, it’s now afternoon, so do me a favor. Type it in the chat and say to somebody, «Zion for Washington, Z-land over, everybody!» Two people, good afternoon! Hey, look! You know what else you can say? «I just spoke to you this morning!» Hey, amen! Matthew chapter 11, I see you, Pastor. Matthew chapter 11, verses 28 to 30 say this: «Come to me, all of you who are tired.» Ooh, oh! I can’t get past that word. Is anybody in here tired from carrying heavy loads? It means you’ve got a lot on you. How many people, listen to me, know what it’s like to have a lot on you? And Pastor, I’ve got a lot on me! Sometimes you’ve got a lot on you, and people can’t see it, but it’s still on you. When you’ve got a lot on you, it can either break you or make you break something, or it can make you break something. You’ve heard that statement, «the straw that broke the camel’s back.» Think about that for a minute. If a straw can break a camel’s back, there had to be a lot on that camel before the straw got to it. I’m saying, «Somebody, listen to me! You’re one straw from breaking. Don’t push me! I’m carrying something heavy.» Jesus says, «Come to me, ” like that said, „and I will give you, oh my God, rest.“ Rest! Verse 29: „Take my yoke and put it on you.“ Lord, help me not to forget to talk about that. „And learn from me because I am gentle and humble in spirit, and you will find—there it is again—what will you find?“ Who knew God wanted me to receive rest in a world that is competing and making idols out of work and grinding all the time? Team No Sleep! God said the God who made us said, „I want you to have rest. I want to give you rest, and I want you to find it.“ Verse 30: „For the yoke I give you is easy, and the burden I put on you is light.“ Ooh-hoo! You may be seated. When you talk about margin, margin is about… how about my new prop this week, y’all? They aren’t playing any games this week. Say, „J, ” on that! I’m scared to touch it, man. It’s kind of a little heavy, too. But margin is this juggling act between my responsibilities and my resources. Every responsibility requires a resource. If it is a responsibility, it must be… if the responsibility is work, then I need time. If the responsibility is a job, an assignment, I need skills and knowledge. If the responsibility is a bill, I need money. You understand what I’m saying? So, the juggling act is this: how do I make sure that my responsibilities are always below my resources? That’s margin! That space is margin. It is a space for grace. It is a space to smell the roses. It is a space to chill out. It is a space to watch your children grow up instead of having to say, „They grew up so fast! I missed it.“ It’s just like it was just yesterday. Some of us have missed so many important things because we were living without margin. We weren’t even paying attention. I had my head down trying to make things happen, trying to keep up with all these responsibilities. I only have a limited amount of skills, a limited amount of time, a limited amount of physical energy, a limited support system, a limited amount of training, and I’ve got to meet all of my problems and all of my… I’ve got school, I’ve got deadlines, I’ve got work, I’ve got parenting, I’ve got expectations from people, I’ve got expectations from others, I’ve got obligations and commitments. All of that must be met by a limited amount of resources. So, whenever you load…
