Robert Morris - Seeing Scripture with Spiritual Sight
We are spiritually blind unless we receive spiritual sight from God. Do you wear glasses or contact lenses? How did you discover that you needed them? How well can you see when you’re not wearing them?
Physically, it’s possible to look right at something and not see it. We have physical eyes and spiritual eyes. Spiritually, we’re blind (Isaiah 42:18–20) until God opens our spiritual eyes so we can understand the Bible. When we receive spiritual sight, we receive revelations of truth, like something being unveiled before us. We’re changed when we see the unveiled truth of God’s Word.
