Comparing ourselves to others is a sin and blocks our ability to properly relate to and receive from God. What is your favorite quote?

In 2 Corinthians 10:12, we’re told that comparing ourselves to others is not wise, and we’re clearly warned not to do so. Comparing ourselves to others produces an attitude of inferiority or superiority in our hearts, anger towards God and opens the door for Satan to work. Comparison is caused by coveting what others have and a lack of acceptance or understanding of who God has made us to be. It’s a deadly spiritual disease that skews our perspective and makes it difficult, if not impossible, to receive all that God wants to give us.

We can overcome the sin of comparison by choosing to glorify God, focusing on gratitude and by filling our minds with the Word of God.
