I mentioned this gift; it has to be stirred up, and it’s funny the text says that. Therefore, I remind you of our six. He says, therefore, I remind you that you stir up the gift of God which is in you. Stir it up! I thought about how the gift of faith does have to be stirred up, right? We have these stagnant seasons where our faith is a little shaky—just to be honest—a little shaky. You don’t see the promise as clearly; it’s a tad shaky, right? The gift of faith has to be stirred up through two primary ways. One is by spiritual discipline, so I think that we need to be self-aware and spiritually aware of where we are in our faith. I think we need to do practical and consistent things to stir that faith. Don’t let it lay dormant, but exercise your faith, and maybe I’ll talk about that in a minute. The other way that our faith is stirred is by outer fire. God will use outer fire, outer pressure, and outer tension to produce inner strength and faith. It’s interesting that word «stir,» when it says, «Therefore, I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you.» That word «stir» is interesting; it literally means—what’s this? —it means to rekindle the fire, to rekindle the fire. So that means we are supposed to be lit internally at all times. Our faith is supposed to be a fire in us. We’ve got to feel a fire that is hard to quench, right? Our faith is supposed to be like an inferno. Maybe that’s why when Jesus says, «I’m going to baptize you in the Holy Spirit and in fire, ” because I need you to be on fire on the inside. Sometimes, what I will do is turn up the fire on the outside to turn up the fire on the inside. You might think that I’m trying to burn you; I’m not trying to burn you; I’m trying to set you ablaze because when you get on fire, you’re going to turn this world upside down. Where are my fiery people in God’s house? Fire is to be fire! You’re supposed to be fire; you’re supposed to be a fire emoji all up inside you! Seriously, you’re not supposed to be cold; you’re not even supposed to be warm. You are supposed to be on fire! When you go through a place, you set it on fire. Where are my people? You want to set your city ablaze! You’re supposed to light it up everywhere you go, just leave it smoking. Come on, somebody! That’s the gift that’s on the inside of you—your fire, baby, your fire! When you come through, one of the things I love about a fire is that nothing can quench it. Nothing can quench it! When a good fire gets going—come on, somebody—nothing can stop it! You’re supposed to be fire; you’re supposed to be fire! Who blew out your flame? What blew out your flame? Fran, listen: If He says „stir up“ or „rekindle the fire,“ that means there are things in life that are going to try to blow your fire out. I feel the Holy Spirit! If you’re not on fire, that means something blew it out, and that’s okay because we’re going to stir that thing right back up! We’re about to stir up your fire again! You’re getting ready to get on fire! You’re getting ready to run through troops and leap over walls—you can’t be stopped! I feel the fire of God in this house right now! You are! I let Jesus set you on fire again! Oh Lord, oh, I feel it! Jeremiah said they were trying to get him to be quiet, and he said, „I told myself that I wasn’t going to say anything.“ He said, „But your word was in me; it was like fire shut up in my bones!“ I came to start a fire in God’s house today! The word is in you; the word is in you; the word is in you; the word is in you! I’m trying to stir up something! Who doused you? Who blew out your flame? What had the power to shut you down? But here’s the thing: You think the fire is all the way out—it ain’t all the way out! There’s a flame down on the inside of you, and it just needs a little bit of Vaseline, a little bit of gasoline. I’m telling you, it’s still there—it’s still there! This is for somebody: You think that you don’t have fire anymore, and yes, it’s small, but see, one thing about a fire is it’s okay that it’s small. All it needs is the right conditions. Come on, somebody! All it needs is the right conditions, and there can be an inferno! I’m filled up with somebody! God’s gonna take you from a little flicker to an inferno! Who am I talking to in God’s house? I’m gonna baptize you not just with the Holy Spirit, but with fire! Fire is your portion! Fire is your portion! When God was calling Moses, what did He show him? He showed him a burning bush; He showed him fire that would not consume it. You need fire! You need fire! God’s gonna give you your voice back; He’s gonna give you your voice back! When you open your mouth, fire’s gonna come out, and it’s gonna purify everything around! Fire, fire, fire, fire! Your fire’s coming back! Fire, fire! It’s going to consume depression; it’s gonna consume sickness; it’s gonna consume!
