It’s easy to go through life letting everything inside—offended by what somebody said, worried about a problem at work, upset because of a negative report. If we’re not careful, these thoughts and worries can poison our spirit. That’s why Joel wants to teach you the principle found in Proverbs 4:23, “Above all else, guard your heart.”
While we can’t stop negative things from happening, the key is to have walls built up so we don’t allow everything to come in. You’ll learn if it’s not a positive, hopeful, productive, faith-filled thing, then don’t dwell on it. You can’t live a positive life thinking negative thoughts. Let this message help you stay full of joy and walk in the fullness of life—regardless of what’s happening around you!
