#645 - Joseph Prince - Set Apart For Lasting Success - Part 4
John Bunyan says one day he was walking through the fields and just like, you know, just absentmindedly just walking around in the fields, and all of a sudden he heard the Holy Spirit speak to him. It came like a clarion call, so clear, and this was what the Holy Spirit said: "Your righteousness is in heaven".
Everything is self-obsessed, self-occupied, self-focused. "I gotta live holy. I gotta be obedient. I gotta, I gotta, I gotta I gotta". I'm looking at myself all the time, not knowing the devil has twisted the whole thing to make me self-obsessed and self-occupied that I don't see Christ anymore, but now the Holy Spirit came with one verse that set John Bunyan free. And the very same statement that set me free was this: "Your righteousness is in heaven". Which means what? Jesus is there at the Father's right hand, and the devil cannot remove him. Hallelujah. Your sins cannot undo the fact he's still your righteousness.
Your righteousness is in heaven. You are forever secure in that, and that set John Bunyan free into a life of victory, holiness, and a Christ-exalting life, a life where he was full of joy and peace. Even in prison, amen, he was suffering for his faith. He could write books, and he was a man of joy, a man that could even write books like "Pilgrim's Progress," which denotes the burden of sin and the victory of grace. Hallelujah.
You are freed from that condition of sin. You are now in the condition of righteousness before God.
