Jesus can afford to be humble because he's been given all things by his Father; and when he humbles himself, there's such glory in that humility.

This is a key to true humility. You have to know what you have. You have to know who you are in Christ. Then you can afford to be humble.

If we try to be humble out of a sense of emptiness, inferiority, we can never do it properly.

When you know you're a child of God, when you know you're complete in Christ, when you know you are the righteousness of God in Christ, when you know you're seated with Christ in heavenly places, only then can you afford to be humble. Only then can you stoop down and serve others.

It's important how you see the Lord, amen? It's important how you see yourself, also, where you proceed from a posture of fullness. Knowing the Father has given you all things, you can afford to forgive. It was when Joseph knew that he was the most powerful man in the land, at that time, in all the world, actually, Egypt was the foremost nation at that time, and he was the most powerful man, of course, besides Pharaoh, but he's given executive power. He had all the power in his hands. He saw his brothers, who betrayed him, who sold him, and with that power, knowing that he has all the power, he used that power to forgive his brothers.
