I want to talk to the people who have been waiting. How many waiters do I have in the room? I’ve been waiting. God told me to preach on this subject: I am waiting on a win. I know you’ve been losing, but it’s your season to win. Touch three people before you sit down and tell them, «I’m waiting on the win. I’m waiting on the win. I’m waiting on the win.» You may be seated in the presence of the Lord. Before I get into this message, I want you to thank the First Lady of this church; she has been working tremendously hard to get us somewhere, and she has been doing it for a long time. They looked at about 50 venues, and right at the last minute, she said, «What if God wants us to go back where we came from?» So I want you to praise God for her one more time for her tireless energy and effort. Thank you so much for all that you do. She said, «Thank you for bringing us back home.»
So listen, I recently—how many of you have had people come over to your house for the holidays? Okay, so I’m not sure if it was last Thanksgiving or the Thanksgiving before that, but my wife had cooked. Her birthday is right around Thanksgiving, and one of her friends came to the house. We sat at the table, and she said, «Do you all get massages?» We said, «Yeah.» She said, «I go to this place, and the lady who owns it is a chiropractor. You should go. She works miracles and wonders.» I said, «Okay.» You know, those of us who are inquisitive start asking questions—well, where is that, and how much does it cost? Come on, how many of you ask how much it costs and if they take insurance? I started asking all kinds of questions, and she answered them.
So I ended up going, and I walked into the chiropractor’s office, and there was a lady this tall. I walked in and thought, «Lord have mercy! She sent me over here. I’m sure she’s going to be good for somebody, but what can she do for me? I’m 215 lbs; she’s probably 115 lbs. I’m 6'4», and she’s 4'6». ” When I tell you that little woman climbed up me like a tree and cracked my neck and back—it’s a true story. I asked her, «Ma’am, how in the world did you do that? You must have done this for a football team or something.» She said, «No, it doesn’t have anything to do with that.» Watch what she says next: «I can do it because I understand anatomy. You don’t have to be strong; you just have to understand.»
You have to understand what’s connected to what. You have to understand what moves what, and she said she didn’t need strength; she just needed understanding. The Bible says, «In all your getting, get understanding.» Yes, get understanding! You keep trying to get stronger when you just need to get understanding. She said she understands the quadrants of the body; she knows that this is connected to that and that is connected to this. What most people don’t understand is that their pain is never from the source. She said, «You’re misaligned in one area because you’re misaligned in another area.»
Most people don’t understand that their feet can hurt their back, or their neck can hurt their feet. Most people don’t know that back pain can be in the calf muscle. I said, «Are you serious?» She said, «Yes, I just understand anatomy. I understand what’s connected. I understand that sometimes you have back pain, but it’s your hamstrings being tight. Sometimes, if you work all day long and you don’t have the proper foundation or orthotics in your shoes, when you’re standing all day long—like hairdressers and beauticians who stand on hard ground—you’re supposed to have a mat to stabilize underneath.»
She said, «You do this all day. You stand up while preaching, but then when they sit down, you’re still standing up. When church is over and you’re on your way home, you’re still standing up. You’re standing up for 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, or 10 hours on Sunday. Not to include if you’re working during the week—you’re always standing.» I understand how to help a standard. It shocked me that she didn’t have to be strong; she just had to understand anatomy.
This is an anatomical conversation today. The body of Israel is out of whack. Something is causing pain, but we don’t know the source of it. We can’t identify it at first glance. Something is out of whack; something is not in its place. It’s an anatomical decision. They end up going into a war against a city called Ai. I’m just paraphrasing to get through this message. They actually end up losing to an enemy they should have defeated. The enemy was weaker, less than, and not the people of God, yet they still lost to them. Listen, they did not lose because of weakness...
