Keion Henderson - Wired For Worship

I was wired for worship; that’s what I want to talk about. Wired means this is just how I was made. I didn’t pick my wiring; I didn’t want it. I don’t do this anywhere else, but something about the presence of God makes me want to worship. High five, everybody! You can reach out on your way down and tell them, «I’m wired to worship.» You may be seated in the presence of the Lord.

So, everybody’s having the artificial intelligence conversation—AI this and AI that. It’s amazing what artificial intelligence can do. I literally was at a meeting in Dallas a couple of weeks ago; they brought a woman up on the screen, and I thought she was a real person. It was an artificially created intelligent being that was responding to the person in the room. We saw a machine that literally allows you to stand in proximity to a camera and appear in three-dimensional form anywhere in the world, across multiple locations and time zones at the same time. This means the day will come when I go to Africa, and you won’t have to get on a plane with me; I can take you there while you stay here, superimposing myself on this stage while you sit there and see me in Africa.

In fact, things are progressing so rapidly that our church just switched over to a new system. In the coming months, you’ll see that when I stand up to preach on Sunday, by the middle of the year, while I’m preaching in English, services will be translated into 90 languages simultaneously. I won’t need an interpreter standing next to me when I speak; it will go out in the language. Not too long ago, my wife and I were in Las Vegas, and we went to see Usher—okay, fine, I went twice. They try to hold me to a different standard, but I saw all of them in there with me!

We went to the new building, the Sphere. Y’all ever seen the Sphere? We walked into that building, which is the most incredible structure in the world, and literally, they had robots talking to you and responding to your questions. The crazy part was that they had lights on the floor in circles, and depending on which circle you stood in, you heard a different language from the same speaker. Did you hear what I just said? If you stood here, you heard English; if you stood there, you heard Spanish; if you stood over there, you heard Mandarin—all coming from the same source.

And it’s not all evil. Because of artificial intelligence, doctors will be able to perform surgeries, and you’ll have access to the best surgeon, even if they’re not in Houston. Because of robotics, they can fold a Post-it note into a paper airplane with artificial intelligence from a distance. I’m just trying to help you see that the world has changed. To everybody afraid of technology, you’re about to be lost! For those of you who still have a flip phone because you don’t want to change—some of y’all still have a StarTac and a Nokia 5100, right? You still use your Nextel chirp, and we’re on iPhone about to be 16, and you’re still talking about, «No, this three works fine.»

Let me tell you, it ain’t! We text you on Tuesday, and you respond on Friday. The way things are wired—it’s just amazing what can be done right now. But as afraid as we are of artificial intelligence—and are you still with me, Philip? —it’s primarily fear rooted in a lack of understanding. Because still to this day, the most complex and powerful computer on Earth is the human mind. The human mind is the most comprehensive, explosive, compact hard drive on Earth.

Let me assure you, no matter what technology does, it will never—I don’t care what they tell you—replace people. Because even when machines are in charge, it still takes people to build and repair the machines. By the way, if you’re trying to guide your children on what to do next, you better teach them how to code. You better teach them about the electronic field and technology, because everything will be coded. Your child can have a future that isn’t antiquated, but rather equipped for tomorrow. The human brain is still the most powerful thing on Earth, and it is not going anywhere. Why? Because God doesn’t use artificial intelligence; He uses people. Can you say Amen?

Now, the mind, ladies and gentlemen, has so many different parts. The problem with the brain is that it often fights against itself. For instance, your logical mind is often in opposition to your emotional mind. The things you know and the things you feel are always combating one another. Nevertheless, the mind is still more powerful because artificial intelligence may have intelligence but it won’t have emotions. It won’t know how to discern an authentic threat or whether to show compassion; it will only act according to its programming. So, don’t go to sleep—I’m on my way! It will only be able to do what it’s wired to do.
