I want you to look to your neighbor on the left and right and tell them, «I suspect that you are blessed because you’re sitting close to me. I suspect that you are blessed because you are around me. I suspect that you are blessed because you hang around me, uh, because everything around me is blessed. I’m blessed in the city, I’m blessed in the country, I’m blessed in my going out, I’m blessed in my coming in. If you know you are blessed, open up your mouth and give Jesus the biggest praise! Give Jesus the loudest praise! Give Jesus the biggest praise in the house! Somebody say, 'I’m blessed! ' Is that how a blessed person shouts? Somebody say, 'I’m blessed! '» Blessed! Is that how a blessed person shouts? Somebody say, «I’m blessed! I’m blessed! I’m blessed! Woo! I am blessed!» How is it possible that Sarah would conceive even in her old age? Because she had the blessing. How is it that Mary would give birth to Jesus without a man? Because she was blessed. How is it that Joseph, in spite of what he went through, can still come out on top? Because of the blessings of God upon his life. How is it? How is it? How is it possible that Daniel can sleep with lions and still wake up? Because of the blessing. Look at you today; some of you got the job without a resume. You didn’t even apply for the job! You are here only because of His mercy and grace. Look at you! You’re living in a house you did not even qualify for. You didn’t even have a credit score, but somehow God blessed you. If you know you’re blessed, somebody shout, «Yes! I’m blessed and highly favored! There’s nothing anybody can do about it!» The doctors told me, «You’re not going to have a baby,» but look at you today! The doctors said this and that, but look at you today; you are blessed! And it’s not my fault if you don’t like it; it’s not my fault! I was thinking about this for a second; I was thinking about this whole concept of blessing, and as I thought about it, it dawned on me that man was the last thing God made, but man was the first thing God blessed. So everything good came first, but when man showed up, he showed up to take authority and dominion. This is why people cannot handle you—because you came later, and they were good, but you came later, and you have the blessing. And they cannot handle the fact that when you show up, you show up with the blessing. Because I am blessed and highly favored, I like to put it this way: when you are in the spotlight, you don’t have to struggle for the spotlight because you are blessed and highly favored. I might have come later, but it doesn’t mean I am late; it just means I’m the latest. That’s what happened with man. Man showed up and took dominion over everything in the garden, even though he showed up late, because he had the blessing. When you have the blessing, you have dominion, and when you have dominion, you don’t have to struggle for the position. I’m blessed! If you don’t like it, it sounds like a personal problem. Take it up with God! I’m blessed, and there’s nothing you can do about it! But the thing about the blessings of God is that they come with responsibility. Because the Bible lets us know God blessed man and said, «Be fruitful and multiply.» So the blessing doesn’t just come with the ability for fruitfulness; it comes with the burden of responsibility for fruitfulness. So you have to prepare yourself, you have to play your part, and you have to fulfill your role—not just spiritually, but practically. Somebody say, «Play your part!» Your neighbor is quiet now. They were shouting, «Blessed!» But the challenge is that a lot of people—whoo! This is good—are ready for the blessing but not prepared for the blessing. And there is a difference between being ready and being prepared. David was ready the moment the prophet put the oil on his head, but he had to go through the wilderness and the backside of the desert to be prepared. The Bible tells us about the ten virgins; all of them were ready, but only five of them prepared. So my question for you this morning is: are you prepared for what you’re believing God for, or are you just ready? This is why God says, «Cast all your cares, not your responsibilities.» The Bible doesn’t say to cast your obligations, for He cares for you. Some of you are casting your obligations; you want God to do His part and do yours! Readiness is when you have the expectation and willingness, but preparation is when you intentionally align your habits and actions to increase your capacity to handle more. Right? Faith without works is dead. So stop casting your responsibilities on God; cast your cares, your fears, your anxiety, all of that. And God says, «Peter, I can fill your boats with fish, but you have to launch out.» Noah, «I can bring the rain, but you have to build the ark.» N.E., «I can heal you, but you have to dip seven times.» Oh, Elijah, «The fire can come down from heaven, but guess what? You have to build the altar.» Because faith without works is dead. I can bring down the walls of Jericho, but guess what? You have to walk around!
