Has God ever told you to do something but did not give you all the details? Do you feel like you need more information about what God called you to do? Then, you are not alone. The life of greatness starts with uncertainty. In Genesis 12:1-4, God told Abraham to go to a place He will show him and Abraham obeyed God without knowing all the details of the place. God doesn’t always give us all the details to what He is doing in our lives because He wants to develop our discernment, build our faith and increase our dependency on Him. In this sermon, you will understand that faith doesn’t always means clarity, sometimes it’s just confidence in God. Like Abraham, it could be possible that your destiny is in your departure and even though you might not have all the details, you still have a promise from God.
On your way to your seat, look at your neighbor and tell them, «I’m missing some details.» One more time, put your hands together for the praise team, please! I’m missing some details. You know, most of the time when we talk about the blessings of God, we think about the blessings of God. Most of the time, when we talk about blessings, we think about them in terms of having an open door. We think about it in terms of entering a new season, and we know the church language: «You’re entering into your new season, entering into your new dimension, entering into your new level.» And that’s fine, and that’s okay, but I think it’s important to understand that you cannot enter into the next season if you have not exited the last season. It seems we have mastered the act of entering things but struggle with exiting them. We know how to enter into the next season of our lives; we know how to enter into the next breakthrough. However, we fail to realize that in order for you to get into the next season or reach the next level, you have to leave your current level. I think this is important because people have this propensity, this ability, to cling to things that are new, yet they have the inability to let go of what is old. It’s crucial for us to understand that a blessing is not just having a breakthrough; a blessing is when you have a breakout. Every now and then, God is going to deliver you from some things, and the blessing is not where God is taking you; the blessing is where God brought you from. You cannot take delivery of your destiny if you have not been delivered from your history. You cannot take delivery of your promise if you have not been delivered from your past. Every now and then, we love to celebrate what God is doing, but we fail to celebrate what God did and where God brought us from. I wonder if there is anyone in this place who just wants to interrupt this sermon this early Sunday morning and say, «God brought me out of some things! I’m not where I want to be, but I’m not where I used to be.» Do I have any testifiers that can say, «He brought me out of sin; He brought me out of wickedness»? Did God bring you out of anything in this place? Entering your new level is a blessing, but exiting the current level is also a blessing. A breakthrough is a blessing, but a breakout is also a blessing. I came to understand that sometimes the deliverance we’re believing God for is just taking us out of stuff. Some of us are so caught up with where we’re going that we fail to realize where God has brought us from. The exit is sometimes more important than the entrance. We are so infatuated with the entrance into the next season, but I want you to think for a second: if this house is on fire, you are not going to be looking for an entrance. I was reading an article that said the U.S. Fire Department responds to a fire every 86 seconds—86 seconds. That is over a thousand fires every day! Think about it: if, God forbid, this house is on fire, some of you are not going to be looking for an open door; you’re going to be looking for an open exit. You’re not going to be looking for the entrance; you’re going to be looking for an escape. Look all around here; it says «Exit, Exit, Exit.» Some of you don’t know that the entrance is also the exit and how you enter His gates is how you exit. No wonder the Bible says, «Enter His gates with thanksgiving.» So, if praise brings me into His presence, then praise takes me out of the enemy’s presence. This is why you need to thank God and bless His name, because what you call an entrance is also an exit, because as you’re entering God’s presence, you’re exiting the enemy’s presence. You cannot be in God’s presence and in the enemy’s presence at the same time. Come on, preach! An exit is as important as the entrance. Talk to me! The three Hebrew children were thrown into the fire, but I love God because in the fire, He steps in. When He steps into the fire, they bring them out of the fire. They were having fun in the fire, and then He stepped in, and all of a sudden, they brought them out of the fire. I’ve got good news for you: it doesn’t matter what you’re going through! You might be facing storms, setbacks, and struggles in your life, but I need you to understand that the God I serve says He is a very present help in times of trouble. You might be surrounded by the smoke of struggles today, but I have good news for you: the Bible says He will never leave you nor forsake you. You might be going through the chaos and confusion of life; I don’t know where you are, but the Bible says, «Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff comfort me.» I’m trying to let you know that it doesn’t matter where you go, God is your emergency exit. God is your exit!
