Have you ever been sick for very long? Sickness over a period of time begins to affect you. It not only affects you physically, but mentally and emotionally. After a period of time, you begin to adapt to the sickness. You might even wonder if you’re ever going to get well. This was the case with man at the Pool of Bethesda. As Proverbs 13:12 states, “Hope deferred makes the heart sick…,” this man probably thought, This must be my lot in life, and he was on the verge of giving up when Jesus found him.
