Sheryl Brady - It Will Be Well Worth Your Wait

Quietly look to your neighbor on the right and say, «Neighbor, it’s well worth your wait.» Turn to your neighbor and say, «Neighbor, I promise you, it’s going to be well worth your wait.» Now look at somebody else and say, «I know you’ve been waiting a long time, but just keep waiting because it’s going to be well worth your wait.»

Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank you for your word, and I thank you for the power to deliver it. I thank you for the fact that you have gathered us together in this moment and at this time. You knew who would be here; you knew what we would need. So, Father, I’m asking you to speak in this place. Have your way; do what only you can do. Find every hearer, Lord, every person. I ask you to locate them, fill them, and give them hope and strength. Let them know that they have a future in you. Have your way in this place, and we’ll give you the glory for it. In Jesus' name, somebody shout, «Amen!»

On your way down, touch somebody and tell them, «It’s going to be well worth your wait.» To be well worth your wait! Friend Jerkins, I’m glad to see you and your wife back in the house with us today. You all are starting to feel like family here; you know we’re glad to have you and happy to have you worshiping with us. Here’s what I want you to know today: most of us in this room are very aware that we have an enemy. We have an enemy, and the enemy is not just my enemy; it’s not just your enemy. He is the enemy of our God, and that’s a problem right there. He’s not just your enemy or mine, but he is an enemy of our God.

He’s called many things; they call him Satan, they call him Lucifer, they call him the devil, they call him the evil one, and they call him a foe. You can call him whatever you want, but whatever names you give him, make sure that you remember he is a defeated foe. For this purpose, the Bible says, was the Son of God made manifest, that he might destroy the works of the evil one. For this purpose was the Son of God made manifest, that he would destroy the works of the evil one.

A foe is an adversary; a foe is an attacker, and every attacker will develop their plan of attack. David said the wicked bend their bow. When he says they bend their bow, it means they are preparing for the attack; they aim to shoot at those who are upright in heart. The enemy is there; he has a strategy, and that tells me that he is a thinker. That tells me that he is a planner, a strategist, that he is methodical and organized. He plans his attack thoroughly; he also anticipates our counter-attacks. His goal is to completely undermine the work that God has done in our lives. He is not just striking wildly in midair; he has targeted you, and that’s what I want you to know. He has targeted you. He is out to completely undo everything that God has done in your life, and he will work to find you in your most vulnerable moment to make that attack happen.

The place where we are most vulnerable in our lives is in our mind. I said the place we are most vulnerable to the attack of the enemy is in our mind. Therefore, our mind becomes the ground that the enemy wants to invade and attack. He is blamed for a lot of things. Now, many people will say, «I got a flat tire on my way to church, and that was the devil; he didn’t want me to get there.» People will shout until they heal up and be like, «That was the devil; that was nothing but the devil,» but I’m going to praise God anyhow. In all actuality, your heel was already loose, and you knew that before you came to church. Your tire was bald, and you knew you needed to get some new tires.

The bottom line is that the enemy is not after your tire; he’s not after your shoes, he’s not after any of that stuff; he is after your mind. The Bible says it is with the mind that we serve the Lord. So, what he’s really after is your mind. He wants you to struggle in your mind because if he can get you to struggle in your mind, you will struggle in your life. I said when you struggle in your mind, it will work itself out in your life.

Now, when you struggle in your mind, it’s not always easy for people to see that, okay? Because when we struggle within our own minds, many times that kind of pain is private. We have secret struggles that we deal with, and we have invisible issues that people don’t always see. Though you work with people and live with people, and love people, and worship with people who have issues, you’re not always able to see that simply because it is an inward struggle. They can look perfect on the outside, with perfect smiles.
