Touré Roberts - Time to Make Room

I want you to turn in your Word to Revelation chapter 3. I am going to read a few verses there. God deposited something interesting in me; this doesn’t happen all the time. This probably happens maybe 30 percent of the time concerning how I receive words from God. He just dropped the phrase in my spirit. Before he gave me the scripture or any sub-thoughts, he dropped this phrase in my spirit, and the phrase was, «It’s time to make room. It’s time to make room.»

Now before I got too deep into it, I shouted because when you hear preachers say, «It’s time to make room, ” you’re like, „Yeah, make room in your life because a big blessing is coming! Come on, somebody!“ You start to immediately think of Isaiah 54, where it says, „Enlarge the place of your dwelling because you who were once barren are getting ready to have more kids than anyone around.“ You get ready because it’s coming! You know you’ve heard that message before, and it’s a true message, right? It is true, and so I got excited. I thought, „Wow, man! I get to preach a fun message. Thank you for the good news, Jesus! It’s time to make room!“ I get to tell the saints of God that your drought season is over. God has been ready to move in your life. It’s getting ready to be crazy.

And it wasn’t that this was not true, but the word was deeper. Sometimes, not you but people you know, sometimes we all want that deeper word because the deeper word always necessitates a deeper work. Hello, somebody! I wasn’t getting much more, and usually, I’ll have my sub-thoughts a day or two after the main thoughts. I wasn’t getting much more, and so I took that, knowing that words come in seasons. I began to look at the world and all the things that are happening literally everywhere, and I said, „Oh man, this is deeper.“

I felt like I was too surface-level. I felt the Holy Spirit. I felt like where I was, was just speaking and talking about getting ready because expansion has come and making room for what God wants to do in your life. The Holy Spirit said that is true, but that’s not deep enough. Sometimes we are inspired but not transformed. When you are inspired and not transformed, you’ve got to show up again to get inspired again because inspiration without transformation is nothing.

I feel the Spirit of God in here! Inspiration without transformation is nothing! I get my high and go back out and function, but because the word was not deep enough to change me, I’ve got to come back and get high again. Are you tracking with me? The word is not designed to get you high; it’s designed to lift you high. It’s designed to elevate you to your actual place in Christ so that from that elevated place, you begin to do life. But if it’s just inspiration and not transformation, you get high and then you come back down, and then you’ve got the munchies.

I’m sorry! Why are you laughing? You’re not supposed to know what that means! Inspiration with no transformation is nothing, and I love you too much to simply inspire you. I love you too much to live in the presence of God as often as I can, to live with God, to listen to God, and understand the things that are coming, and just feed you candy all day that gets you high and gives you a sugar rush. So I said, „God, take me deeper then because obviously it’s not deep enough.“

I said, „Give me a text, ” and the text that he gave me was right here in Revelation chapter 3. Can we go through it real quick? All right, let’s roll through it. This is Jesus speaking, and he’s talking to those who are supposed to be believers. They were functioning; what another passage of scripture says is that they had the form of godliness but were denying the power of God. They looked like believers, but their lives had no power. That’s a whole other message in and of itself.

Jesus is coming and he’s going to say some things to them because what they didn’t realize at the time was that although they were having church, their destiny was actually in jeopardy. If Jesus did not come and tell them they must go deeper… See, this is not Jesus being upset or mad; he understands that if he doesn’t come and give you heaven’s truth, where will you find it? He comes and has this conversation with these several churches. There were seven churches, and each of those churches had unique issues, and then he basically comes here and says, „Now check this out.“ Jesus says, „Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with me.“

Then he says in verse 21, „To him who overcomes, I will grant to sit with me on my throne, as I also overcame and sat down with my Father on His throne.“ So let’s look at some of the things that he’s saying. What he’s trying to do is bring…
