There’s power in that song. The most powerful part of that song is not necessarily describing the atmosphere; the power in that song arises when you begin to align with heaven and tell God, «Yours is the kingdom.» That’s the most powerful part of that song. It’s a moment in worship that God blesses us with, where we can take a moment to align with the truth: it’s all about Him. It’s to exalt Him, to lift Him up, to say, «God, you know what? I feel good about myself. I feel special, and I feel like I’m awesome, and I have an amazing destiny.» But you know what? In the grand scheme of things, «Yours is the kingdom. Yours is the power. Yours is the glory forever and ever, amen.» There is something profound about agreeing with God. You know what I’m saying? It’s like we want to be powerful, and that’s cool, that’s really cool. But when our desire or pursuit of power robs God—and you can’t really rob Him, but at least from an idea perspective—when we withhold from God the truth about who He is, we miss something. One of the things I’ve learned about God is that in exalting Him, you gain power. It doesn’t even make sense; it’s weird. Like, how do I gain power by lifting Him up? It’s because, watch this, God doesn’t have an ego. Humans have egos; we’ve got egos. We need to feel powerful. God is not walking around heaven saying, «I wish somebody would call me powerful; I feel unappreciated.» No, no, no, no, no—He’s whole; He doesn’t have any of that.
So when you become like God in that you don’t need to feel like the star all the time, when you understand the expression, when you get secure enough in who you are because of whose you are—I’m definitely going to need something here—when you get secure enough in that, when you come to a place where you say, «God, it’s by Your mercy and Your grace that I am what I am. In You I live and move and have my being,"—you’ve got to turn these up—"in You I live and move and have my being.» When you understand that all of your greatness comes from Him, that your greatness is in Him, you can lift Him up and make Him great because you are connected to divine greatness. Are you hearing what I’m saying? I can say, without losing myself and my sense of worth and value, that «Yours is the kingdom. Yours is the glory. Yours is the power.» And as you guys were saying that, when the music dropped, and it transferred from being the worship leadership song to your song, I felt something shaking in this room. I feel God! Your worship shakes things. That’s why there is always an assault of distraction against your personal worship time. This is great; you expect it, you know it’s coming. And as a result, sometimes you push off your personal worship time. But I wonder what your life would look like on Monday if, in your car on your way to the meeting, you were saying, «Yours is the kingdom, Yours is the power, Yours is the glory.» I wonder what type of atmosphere you would create around yourself. I feel God in this! Some of you know right now, your power is in your ability to worship. Your power is in your ability to summon the atmosphere of God. You don’t even need a praise team when you become your own praise team. When you have your two or three songs that you sing on your way to the meeting, that you sing in the elevator going up, as you prepare to walk into the situation, it’s not about «I’m all that»; it’s «God, You are all that, and because You are all that, I can do all things.»
Create your own atmosphere! And if you don’t, here’s what happens: I see in your life right now what happens— you can be all fired up, and if you don’t come into the room with an atmosphere, the atmosphere of the room begins to make you shrink. You knew what you were going to say, you had your idea, you knew what you were going to ask for; you know they’re going to take this, and you get into that environment, and you turn into a little kitten. Well, yeah, that’s fair; yeah, that’s fair, you’re right.
Now, you have to create this: «On earth as it is in heaven» has the idea of translating atmospheres and environments. So in your car, as it is here. God doesn’t want you to be bold. See, this is practice. You follow what I’m saying? This is where you practice the environment, you practice the presence, right? So that you can take this out with you where you spend the other six days and 21 hours. I felt something shaking when this generation started giving God glory. Maybe it’s because it is so counter to what they say about this generation. They say this generation is a «me» generation, and a «me» generation doesn’t have space for Him. So I think that as you guys begin to say, «Yours versus mine,» that’s why I felt like something was shaking.
