We are now in the third week of our series called «It’s in the Air.» In the first week of this series, we began a conversation about atmospheres and environments, and how we must navigate the atmosphere if we are to remain focused and effective in fulfilling God’s calling for us in a world where the atmosphere can often be toxic. Are you tracking with me? We discussed in the first week how atmospheres are comprised of thoughts. When you enter certain places, you’ll feel their atmospheres, but often, the atmosphere is a reflection of the predominant collective thoughts present. That’s why Paul teaches us that our warfare is actually a battle over atmosphere. He explains that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God for pulling down strongholds and casting down arguments. We know that the word «strongholds» refers to fortified arguments. Paul stated that we have weapons to tear down these arguments so that we can create an atmosphere conducive to producing God’s best.

We examined the actions of Jesus, who was on a mission to heal Jairus’s daughter. He had to navigate various atmospheres, as people were speaking from an alternative environment. He needed to shut down those negative influences. You may remember that when Jesus entered the house, people were singing sad songs during a moment that should have been filled with joy. I feel the Holy Spirit as I recap this. You must learn by the Spirit when to sing a sad song versus a happy song. Sometimes people simply won’t understand what God is doing in your life, and they may mourn over something that represents God blessing you and elevating you to the next level. You need to learn to silence those voices. Don’t cry for me, don’t weep for me, and don’t pity me; I’m about to step into something that will change my life and my faith!

So, Jesus had to silence them as they cried and played funeral music, not grasping the significance of the moment. They misunderstood the sound and had the wrong soundtrack playing. I feel the Holy Ghost in this! You need to connect with people who know the right song for your season. I have to contain myself because I feel this deeply for someone. Sometimes you find yourself around people you used to bond with musically, and while you enjoyed the same tunes, now their words can grate on you. Same people, different season. You’re moving from glory to glory; you are evolving and taking this journey seriously. You believe God has plans for you—plans to prosper you and not to harm you—and you are beginning to pay the price of becoming, which is a cost many are unwilling to bear.

What happens when you begin to evolve and grow? Those who once played the violin may no longer resonate with you as you find yourself in a lead guitar season. So, Jesus had to address that; he had to address atmospheres. We talked about how some things can only grow in the right atmosphere and environment. Sometimes we think that God has failed us; however, God is saying, «I haven’t failed you. What I have ordained to grow cannot do so in the atmosphere you continuously subject yourself to.» Growth may happen automatically when you shift your atmosphere. If you wonder why things aren’t working, they will work, just not in that particular context. Everything can’t grow everywhere. Last week, we shifted from the outer atmosphere to the inner atmosphere. We looked at the story of David in 1 Samuel chapter 30 and recognized that within every believer lies a divine resolve, a power that enables you to overcome any challenges you face in your life. It’s in you right now! Sometimes you must go through struggles to activate it. There’s a fighter within you. I’ve mentioned before that even when you doubt your strength, the devil is a liar. If you are in a battle, it simply means there is a fight within you to overcome it. We discussed that shift last week.
