Last week, I started a series called «Kings and Queens,» and I believe the timing of that series is impeccable. The premise is that, according to Revelation chapter 1, one of the things Jesus came to do was, of course, wash us in His blood. It then states that He has made us kings and priests. He did not use those terms arbitrarily; He did not call us kings without reason. He could have chosen any words; He could have referred to His children in any way, but He said, «You are kings.» We have already worked through the fact that being a king is not based on gender; we’re talking about posture and position, ultimately about authority. We know that in Christ, there is neither male nor female; it has nothing to do with gender concerning salvation, authority, or power. There is no difference, no distinction. God will use each of us, regardless of sex, equally. That is why I may say «kings and queens»; I included «queens» because I didn’t want anyone to feel left out in case you weren’t here for part one. However, when I say «king,» I want you to know that you are included.
We talked last week about how kings have both authority and a domain; they have power and a domain. Your domain is your lane. Last week, we focused on not rejecting our lane, but embracing it, learning about it, and developing in that lane. When we do, we will become unstoppable, because all of Heaven’s resources are pointed toward supporting us in the lane God has called us to walk in. That is why we have to be very intentional and not become frustrated by looking at someone else’s lane. We must truly understand who we are and what God has called us to do, to be, and to walk out. If we do, we will literally become unstoppable, because that is the very reason we were created.
So, we talked about that last week and began to discuss Joseph a little. One reason I chose Joseph is that some of you may think Joseph wasn’t a king. That’s because, when you think of Joseph, you remember all that he went through, some of which we’ll discuss in just a moment. However, Joseph was, in fact, a king. The reason I chose Joseph is that I believe he teaches us how to manifest the king that is in us. Are you tracking with me? I want to discuss his life in more detail, and in doing so, I want to bring forth five thoughts—five ideas—about the characteristics or traits, the way of the king, and what God does in the lives of kings. I hope we will be sharpened by this because I believe that now, more than ever, leadership will be essential, and God is looking to raise some people up. Since Jesus spoke about us being the light of the world and the salt of the earth, I believe that it’s you. I want to be straightforward; I don’t believe God will accomplish it through someone else. We are looking for heroes and for kings, asking who will be the next great leader, but I don’t think it will just be one or two. I believe it will be all of you, each in your own capacities and spheres of influence.
Think back to the past, when there were several prominent leaders. You would see them moving and shaking, and when those leaders called a meeting, hundreds of thousands would gather. You don’t really see that as much anymore, but you are witnessing the emergence of numerous leaders who are leading thousands, or even just tens, or perhaps just your household. I believe that is how leadership will operate. I think God will raise up a very mature and wise group of people, and they will, in turn, raise up more mature and wise individuals who will perform mature and wise deeds. I believe that’s how our world will change. We cannot sit back waiting for a savior. Are you tracking with me? Saviors will not come from the White House; saviors will come from your house. It will come from you, and it will require some things that are hard to define. Before I share the five points, I want to emphasize that you will need to be bold. Your calling will require boldness; you must be courageous. I want to highlight these five things, and I ask for your understanding today because I have a lot to share, and I feel like I want to give you even more than what I have written. However, I sense that for some of you, that boldness I’ve mentioned is crucial.
