The focused anointing, or a focused anointing, when I talk about a focused anointing, I’m not referring specifically to a unique anointing as we did last week, but rather that uniqueness in action. The anointing that is on your life has been given to you not just for you as a unique individual. God hasn’t just anointed you as a consecrated and unique person; He has anointed you for a specific task. This is the reason we must focus all that we are and all that God has given to us into one place of power. One of the pastors I know calls it your grace space; this is the place where you thrive in the kingdom of God. Now, I know what many of you might be thinking; you might be considering that it’s very difficult for you to know what the perfect will of God is for your life, or what God specifically wants you to do. These are questions that we ask, and they are important to answer. The scripture provides answers that are 100% perfectly crystal clear. I have good news for you: you don’t have to wait anymore. You don’t have to wonder what the next step is anymore; you don’t have to put everything on hold until you have everything specifically laid out before you. In fact, I’m going to give you, real quickly, ten things that God wants you to do definitively, which He has clearly and purposefully assigned to every believer. Once we take a look at what the general will of God is, we will discuss the specific will of God and how you can focus the anointing that is on your life into one specific task.

So, first of all, number one: the first thing that is God’s will for every believer, what He wants us all to do: number one, He wants us all to preach the gospel. Mark 16:15 says, «And then He told them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the good news to everyone.’» Number two: God wants every believer to live holy. Romans 12:1 says, «And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all He has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice, the kind that He will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship Him.» Number three: God wants every believer to worship Him. Revelation 4:11 says, «Thou Art Worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power, for Thou hast created all things, and for Thy pleasure they are and were created.» Number four: God wants every believer to fellowship with Believers. Hebrews 10:25 says, «Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the day approaching.» Number five: God wants every believer to serve in the body. 1 Corinthians 12:18–21 says, «But our bodies have many parts, and God has put each part just where He wants it. How strange a body would be if it had only one part! Yes, there are many parts, but only one body. The eye can never say to the hand, ‘I don’t need you.’ The head can’t say to the feet, ‘I don’t need you.’» So all New Testament callings are corporate callings; there is no isolation in the call of God in the New Testament. Number six: God wants every believer to commit to prayer. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 says, «Pray without ceasing.» That’s a command. Number seven: God wants every believer to commit to the Word. 2 Timothy 2:15 says, «Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.» Number eight: God wants every believer to love Him and others. Matthew 22:37–40 says, «Jesus replied, ‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind. This is the first and greatest command. A second is equally important: love your neighbor as yourself. The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.’» Number nine: God wants every believer to conform to Christ. 2 Corinthians 3:18 says, «So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord, and the Lord who is the Spirit makes us more and more like Him as we are changed into His glorious image.» It is the goal of every Christian to become like Christ in character, being, and nature. Number ten: God has called every believer to sacrifice. Matthew 16:24 says, «Then Jesus said to His disciples, ‘If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross, and follow me.’» A cross-less gospel is a Christ-less gospel; without the cross, it’s not really Christianity. If you don’t have a cross, if you’re not sacrificing, if you’re not forsaking something for the sake of Christ, then you are not in the will of God. In fact, if you are missing any one of those ten things, and I’ll give you this list right here: number one, preach the gospel; number two, live holy; number three, worship God; number four, fellowship with Believers; number five, serve in the body; number six, commit to prayer; number seven, commit to the Word; number eight, love others; number nine, conform to Christ; and number ten, sacrifice. Those are the hallmarks of a life that is lived in the will of God. So that is the will of God. It’s simple to know, and many people, when they hear that, it’s not exactly the answer they’re looking for because when people ask, «What is the perfect will of God for my life?» they’re not necessarily asking what God wants them to do or what He has instructed.
