I really want to lean into what’s on my heart, and I want to read a passage of scripture found in the book of Second Kings, chapter four, beginning at verse one. This is what it says: «The wife of a man from the company of prophets cried out to Elisha, 'Your servant, my husband, is dead, and you know that he revered the Lord, but now his creditor is coming to take my two boys as his slaves.' Elisha replied to her, 'How can I help you? Tell me, what do you have in your house? ' 'Your servant has nothing there at all, ' she said, 'except a small jar of olive oil.' Elisha said, 'Well, go around and ask your neighbors for empty jars. Don’t just ask for a few.' That’ll preach right there: don’t just ask for a few. 'Then go inside, shut the door behind you and your sons, pour oil into all the jars. As each is filled, put it to one side.' She left him and shut the door behind her and her sons. They brought the jars to her, and she kept pouring. When all the jars were full, she said to her son, 'Bring me another one.' But he replied, 'There’s not a jar left.' Then the oil stopped flowing. She went and told the man of God, and he said, 'Go, sell the oil, pay your debts, and you and your sons can live on what is left.' I want to tag a title to this text, this second sermon in this series called „Headaches.“ Here’s the subject: I want you to drop it in the chat: Help your brothers and sisters receive this revelation! Here it is, family: I need to think about it. Ladies and gentlemen, as I ease into today’s introduction, I want to do so by informing some and reminding others about a trait of your pastor. I can put words together, but I cannot put things together. I can build teams, churches, and companies, but I cannot build anything else that requires the use of my hands. My children have their mother to thank for the construction of the toys around Christmas; Pastor Shamika has a tool belt, Darius Daniels does not. I don’t have any issue admitting this reality because I believe in the words of David: I’ve been crafted by my creator in a customized manner; I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Watch this! Even my deficiencies are distinctive. It’s not just the things that I can do that make me, me; it’s the things I can’t do that make me, me. My deficiencies are actually direction; they are God’s way of saying to me, 'I don’t want you to spend your time over here because I built you to spend your time over there.' I need to pause for the cause right there and encourage somebody because the devil is attempting to get you to see your deficiencies as dysfunction. I want to tell you that your can’t-dos have been customized by your creator. He says, 'I’m going to give you a can’t-do in the area you aren’t called to.' Did you hear what I just said? He said, 'That’s my gift to you so that you don’t waste your time doing something I have not created you to do.' I want you to celebrate and appreciate what you can do, and I want you to celebrate and appreciate what you can’t do. God, thank you for my can-dos, and thank you for my can’t-dos. I can’t put things together; however, there’s one experience when I was in a different place, and Pastor Shamika was away. Instead of waiting for her to get back, I wanted to construct this entertainment center so that I could utilize it to play my video game. My Xbox cord wasn’t long enough to reach from the television to the floor, so I needed to put it on something to play my game. So, instead of waiting for Pastor Shamika to come back, I said, 'I’m going to put this together myself.' I know my can’t-dos, but I’m going to put this together myself. I tried to follow the instructions and attempted to construct the structure based on the blueprint I saw in the book inside the box. When I completed the structure, I realized I had a few screws left over. I examined what I had constructed and concluded that it looked steady to me. Therefore, these extra screws were unnecessary. Now, the structure looked sufficient as long as it had no weight on it. But once I took the Xbox and put it on the structure, which looked steady without weight, it began to fall apart underweight. I’m not going to bother with this because some of you are comparing yourself to structures that don’t have any weight on them. They look like they’re killing the game, but they don’t bear any weight. But once the weight is on them, it reveals whether or not they are constructed properly. So, I thought those screws weren’t necessary, so I put my Xbox—at that point, it was back in the day, an Xbox 360—on the shelf, grabbed my controller, and prepared to get to it.
