Dharius Daniels - Everybody Is Under Pressure

Exit from this Earth. Come on, I want to pray. Jesus said, «You’ll know the truth, and the truth will set you free.» That word «truth» means reality. Ignorance is not bliss. I need you to be clear on what the reality of life is like. There is not a season you’re going to go through where you will not be dealing with some type of pressure. If you can get this revelation, it’s going to ease your frustration because frustration is always a result of failed expectations. It’s when you find something you didn’t expect, or you don’t find something you did expect, that leads to frustration. That’s why some of us are frustrated with people. But when you right-size your expectations, it frees your frustration. There’s never a season you will go through where you will not deal with pressure.

The students are under pressure about taking the test. The teacher is under pressure grading the test. Somebody’s under pressure because they can’t find a house. Somebody’s under pressure because they have a house and don’t want it anymore. Somebody’s under pressure because they’re looking for a job, and someone else is under pressure because they have to go to one tomorrow that’s getting on their last nerve. Somebody’s under pressure because they’re trying to find their soulmate, while someone else is under pressure because they have one they thought they wanted, and now that they have them, they realize they want to get out. Everybody is under pressure. But they used to say in Kilmichael, Mississippi, that He will not put more on you than you can bear. A proper theology would be He will not put more on you than He will help you bear.

I want to tell you, if you are experiencing it, you were built for it. God Almighty! God never allows you to experience something without making an assessment regarding whether or not you have the capability to handle it. Some of you are saying you can’t handle it, and that is an indication that you don’t have a revelation of what’s on the inside of you. You are saying you can’t handle it, and God’s saying, «I put something on the inside of you; you didn’t even know was there.» I’m speaking to somebody in this season, and I want you to know that God is getting ready to introduce you to a version of you you haven’t even met yet. This pressure is not about to destroy you; this pressure is about to develop you. There’s a stronger you that’s about to emerge; there’s a wiser you that’s about to emerge.

God will never let you experience something without making an assessment regarding whether or not you have the capability to handle it. Pressure, since it’s an inevitable part of life, I need God to give me the wisdom to manage it wisely because I don’t want the pressure to cause me to have a breakdown and a meltdown. If the pressure causes me to have a breakdown and a meltdown, it creates three types of conundrums in my life. If the pressure causes me to have a breakdown that leads to a meltdown, what happens is I can sabotage my own success. Some sabotage doesn’t come from the enemy; it comes from the inner me. There’s something I taught you called the Law of First Mention, which means when you’re reading the Bible—specifically in the Book of Genesis—you see something for the first time, and that is an indication of how you will see that reality played out throughout Scripture.

So, the way the devil shows up in Genesis is the way he’s going to show up in Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, and in your life. He showed up in a garden as a snake. In your life, he’s going to show up as a snake in a garden. I taught you this before. You’re not surprised when you see a snake in a garden because the devil shows up looking like he belongs. If he showed up looking like the devil, you wouldn’t give him access. So sometimes he shows up looking like a disciple named Judas. What did he do? He shows us in Genesis that he can’t sabotage your future; he can only influence you to sabotage it yourself. He didn’t make Adam and Eve eat the fruit, but he influenced them to make decisions that would sabotage their own success. Somebody needs to be shouting right here because it lets you know the devil’s not in your way! Come on! You are not waiting for the devil to get out of your way for things to change. Things can change for you right now when you get a revelation that your season of self-sabotage is over.

I’m going to say that one more time until it gets in your head and your heart. I’ll say it until it gets in your toes: your season of self-sabotage is over! I’m telling somebody. This part of the sermon is not for people who are taking advantage of every opportunity; this part of the sermon is not for people who have walked through every door. This part of the sermon is for those wrestling with guilt and anxiety because you feel like you’ve missed some things in a previous season that you wish you could go back and walk through those doors again.
