All right, I want you to touch everyone you can reach and tell them, «Killing it quietly.» You may be seated in the presence of the Lord. I know you want to say it softly, but I didn’t want to discourage you, little Lauryn Hill fans in here. Is anybody ready for the word? All week long, Pop, I hear you. Sun Tzu, the author of the book «The Art of War,» said that the supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting. This is contrary to most of your perspectives because, by nature, you’re a fighter. In fact, all your life, you’ve had to fight. You see, most of us are always up to no good; most of us have one way of doing things. In times of trouble, you rely on your strength. So if you’re a fighter, then you fight; if you’re a talker, then you talk; and if you’re a shut -down type, then you shut down. For most of us, the art of war is to do what we are best at. However, Sun Tzu said in «The Art of War» that the supreme art of fighting is to subdue the enemy without lifting a finger. My God, when I read the book — and I strongly suggest you do — there was a word that he kept using over and over again that I didn’t even realize the Spirit was speaking to me. You know, when the student is ready, the teacher will appear. There 's something right now that is the answer to your question, but because you’re not ready, you don’t see it as an answer. Then, all of a sudden, one day, you get it, and it’s been right there the entire time. He kept using this word: subdue. The art of war is the way to subdue the enemy. I went past it because I thought I knew the definition of «subdue,» and so I assumed I understood what it meant. I thought it meant «to conquer.» I saw «subdue» and moved over it, but then I started thinking about all the places in the Bible where the word «subdue» is mentioned. The Bible says in Genesis 1:28 that God put Adam and Eve on earth to subdue it. Yes, sir. Isn’t that interesting? Yes, sir. Why would God tell Adam and Eve to subdue the earth? He says, «Not only do I want you to subdue it, but I want you to be fruitful and multiply.» When Delilah had Samson’s head in her lap, she said to him, «Can you show me where your strength is so that the men might not subdue you?» The Bible says that when he told her his strength was in his hair, she called the men in, they shaved his hair off, and he lost his strength, and the men subdued him. Subdue! I promise you this word didn’t hit me as hard in my entire life until I read it this week. Remember in Mark chapter 5, there was a man who was possessed with 6,000 demons in the country of the Gadarenes? The Bible says all day and all night he was cutting himself with stones, and no man could subdue him — no, not with fetters or chains. In other words, every time they would subdue him, he would break free from the handcuffs. I never saw this: he was in a cemetery, broke free, but never broke out. Even when they chained him up, and even though he freed himself, he still never left the cemetery. You' d be surprised at how many people are addicted to death. You 'd be surprised at how many people are conditioned for conflict. Even when they break free, they can’t break out because it has them subdued. Somebody out there is preaching with me already. The Bible says that they could not subdue him. With so many mentions of the word " subdue,» I thought it not robbery to search out a qualitative, holistic definition of the word «subdue,» so that you will understand why it arrested my attention and why I hope that it arrests yours. The word «subdue» means to conquer without sound. I’m going to talk to y’all over here. I’m really just looking for my click, click, click. I’m just looking for it. When I find you, I’m going to preach. It literally means to conquer without sound, because you’re going to be tempted to speak a lot in this next season. God is showing me a new strategy on how to conquer without sound. It is the only way you can subdue. I’m not talking about conquering; I’m not talking about controlling; I’m talking about subduing a spirit to the place where you can do it quietly. Are you listening to me? You 're going to have to overcome this one quietly. Help me, Holy Spirit. There 's an old saying that says, «If you wait by the river long enough, the bodies of your enemies will float by.» You put so much energy into swimming upstream to defeat your enemies that you’re too tired to win once you get there. Oh, y’all are not listening to me! Some of you are tired because you 're constantly fighting battles that are not yours to fight. You don’t have to swim upstream to kill your enemies. If you stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, it won’t be long until you see the bodies of your enemies. Oh help me, Holy Ghost! Do me a favor, touch three people and say, «Baby, save your energy!» Don’t say that with a dog attitude; I’m sorry...
