Keith Battle - Verified - Part 3

I’m glad y’all are here! We are in part three of a series called «Verified.» If you’re a single person, type «Verified.» I’m verified. Type those words, «I’m verified,» in the chat right now. Verification, as we know, comes on social media when you’ve reached a certain level of status. When you get that blue check, you’re considered stamped and official. But I want you to know that as a single person, you are stamped right now, you are verified, and you are enough—without a boo, without a spouse, without an engagement, and without a relationship. All by yourself, you are enough, and I hope each and every one of you believes that. Because with or without a blue check from Instagram, you are stamped and verified by God.

Now, in the first two weeks of this series, I focused our attention on how to handle relationships if you’re single and mingling, how you could avoid certain traps, and what questions to ask so you would know how to proceed if you’re in a relationship. You would know whether you’re in a relationship that’s worth your time or not, and we focused on that. I hope that was helpful. But this week, I’m going to start moving away from the relationship space as a single to talk about how you can maximize your life as a single and get the most out of this special time in your life. We’re going to do that by cooking you up a gourmet single meal today—that’s what I’m cooking up for you today. And because we’re Chef Keith’s, we’re not going to start off with an entrée; we’re going to start off with dessert, because that’s how we do it as Chef Keith’s! We start off with dessert! See, Chef Keith’s, you don’t even have to wait to save room for dessert. We’re going to give you dessert right out the box. You understand what I’m saying? Because that’s the best part of the meal to me—the dessert. That’s why I eat the food just to get to the dessert. That’s why we’re here! And here’s your dessert today as a single person: you ready? Y’all, by the way, you’re going to get the munchies watching this message today! But here’s your dessert as a single person: enjoy your dag-gone life! There’s enough suffering in the world; you need to have some fun! What would your day look like today if you decided to fill it with joy?

We don’t throw parties; we get all stressed out. What about the invitation? What about the food? Man, just say y’all are coming over. That’s what I’m saying—y’all come over; you bring some plates if you’re coming, because you know you eat a lot. I’m saying have some fun with it. We say, «Well, you know we can’t do it. It might rain; it might thunderstorm.» Man, it’s going to be hot, and so what? Go in the house! How to loosen up? Just shake somebody, and that’s it—loosen up! Have some fun, have some fun!

Too many Christians aren’t doing anything fun anymore. You don’t do anything anymore. You think I say you should stop doing everything? No, no, no, no, no, no! That’s why people don’t want to be saved; they look at you and say, «Nah, I’m good, I’m good, I’m good, I’m good.» You look—true! You know I love Jesus; I love Jesus. He’s a rock in the weary land. You don’t even shop anymore! I don’t shop, so what does your week look like? If you had joy in it, what would this month look like if you strategically said, «I’m going to have some joy this month»? Let me give you a point: Don’t miss this—enjoy your life! I’m telling you, if I don’t know anything else, I’m on assignment to tell somebody, «Listen to me! I don’t know if it’s on the radio, I don’t know if you’re online, I don’t know if you’re in this room, I don’t know who you are, but whoever you are, God would be here this morning to tell you to enjoy your daggone life!» You’ve been suffering; you’ve been working two jobs. You work for everybody else—you’re helping Big Mama, you’re doing all the family support, you’re a caregiver, you raise children, you’ve been bending your back over. You’re hiding money, you’re saving up for a future that you might not even see.

The devil is a liar! Enjoy your life, have some fun! Do what God—if you’ve got money in your bra, you’ve got money in a CD, you’ve got money you’re hiding in the credit union—go on a vacation, go on a roller coaster, go jet skiing, do something. Don’t wait until you get to heaven to have any fun! You don’t know how much time you’ve got left. He says, «I come that you might have life and have it more abundantly.» I believe that, just like I believe the devil came to steal, to kill, and destroy. God, help me to believe that you came that I might have abundant life. Just put someone next to you and say, «Have some fun, have some fun! Do what you want to do with everyone. Do what you want to; let’s have some fun!» Now what do y’all know about the Bar-Kays? Nothing down! Y’all know about the Blockades? Listen, listen, listen—if you’re a single person, I want you to type something in the chat room right now! Right now! Get ready! I need you to write this down somewhere to hold yourself accountable. This is what I want you to write: I will have some fun! Write that down. I will have some fun! Man, enjoy your life—enjoy your life! Get a bucket list; write down a bucket list of at least three things right now!
