Life is full of unexpected interruptions—moments when you run out of what you need, when reality doesn’t match your expectations, or when it feels like God’s blessings are on pause. But an interruption is not a destination; it’s only a transition! When life throws you an unexpected challenge—whether it’s a negative report, financial loss, or personal crisis—know that God is never surprised. Just as Jesus turned water into wine in John 2, He can take what you have left and create something miraculous. Don’t focus on what’s missing; focus on what remains. Obedience to His instructions positions you for transformation. If you can handle the season of water, you’re ready for the season of wine. What should take years, God can accelerate in moments. Your breakthrough is closer than you think!
On your way, as you say, look at your neighbor, the one you’ve not spoken to all day, and tell them, «It can only get better. It can only get better. It can only get better.» What did they say? Did they smile? It can only get better. You know, one of the things I love about Jesus is that He did not just preach and teach; He also demonstrated the power of God through signs, wonders, and miracles. That’s why I love Jesus. There were a lot of people. This is important because there are many people today who know how to explain God, but they don’t know how to experience God. Jesus did not just talk about it; Jesus was about it. Jesus manifested what He was saying. A lot of people today understand the principles, but they don’t understand the power of God. I’m reminded of the scripture in Romans 8:19; it says that the whole earth is waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God. Listen, the whole earth is not waiting for the explanation; it’s waiting for the manifestation. We’ve done enough explaining in church, but what we need is manifestation. I need you to understand that your sonship in Christ is not something you explain; it’s something you manifest. What the world responds to is evidence and excellence, but we have many people in church who can explain, we can quote, but we don’t have the power. The Bible lets us know that the whole earth is waiting for a manifestation of the sons of God. Think about the church: what would have happened if Jesus never performed a miracle? What would have happened to the woman with the issue of blood? What would have happened to the lame and the blind? What would have happened if Jesus said, «I am the resurrection and the life» but could not raise Lazarus? What would have happened if Jesus said, «I am the light of the world» and could not open blind eyes? And that is where we are today; people can quote the scriptures, but they don’t have the power to back the scriptures. I came tonight to let you know that if God has spoken any word over your life, in 2025 it’s going to come to pass. Look to your left and look to your right and tell your neighbor, «It’s going to come to pass. It’s going to come to pass.» Think about your life: what would have happened if God did not intervene? Think about your life. Some of us are products of miracles. Just think about your life—how God delivered you from sickness, how God delivered you from disease, how God delivered you from that plane crash, how God delivered you from that medical procedure, how God delivered you from that company before it went under. Somehow, if you cast your mind back in retrospect, you would taste and see that the Lord is good. You can testify. Can I have someone just to testify that God has been good to me? He kept my body; He put me in a place of peace and solace. God kept you; He kept your kids; He kept your grandkids—even when they told you you would never make it. Look at you today. You are here because of the grace and the mercy of God. Somebody say yes, yes! What would have happened if God never performed a miracle? The reason I talk about this is that when we study this text, it’s important to realize that this was the first miracle of Jesus. Think about it: this was the first miracle, and there is a law called the Law of First Mention. What the Law of First Mention means is that the first controls the rest. So when I look at this text, it’s important to realize that Jesus was invited to a party. Jesus was not invited to heal the sick; Jesus was not invited to cast out demons; Jesus was not invited because of His power. Jesus was invited because they wanted to experience His presence. This is important, church, because most of the time, whenever Jesus was invited, it was always because there was a crisis. But in this situation, it’s different because Jesus was invited for a celebration, not because they had a situation. That is important, and there is a lesson to be learned that God is the God of the good times and the bad times. For most of us, the only time we remember God is when we have a bad time, but God says, «I want to be there on the big days and on the bad days. I want to be there when you’re on the mountaintop and when you are in the valley.» God sent me down here to let you know, wherever you are, that He’s the God of the breakthrough and the breakdown. It doesn’t matter what you’re going through; He’s God when you’re broke and when you’re rich. He’s God regardless of your class, regardless of your situation; He is still God. Look at your neighbor to your left and to your right one more time and tell them, «He’s still God.» Yeah, he’s an African pastor; he came to tell you, «He’s still God. He’s still God.» I noticed here, church, that Jesus did not just go alone; Jesus went with His disciples. You know what that means? If this was the first miracle Jesus did, and He went with His disciples, it means that He had not yet told Peter to launch out into the deep.
