Touré Roberts - Lost and Found (Full Circle with God)

Today, I want to talk about being lost but now found, and I want to look at a couple—uh, two for sure—characters in the scripture that I believe will speak to the season some of you are in. First off, I want you to understand that God is a radical winner. He’s serious about winning; he’s so serious. We’ve seen a couple of stories in the Bible where it says that God leaves the 99 to go after the one. You’ve seen that, right? You’ve heard that before, right? Thank you! You’ve seen Jesus talk about how he’ll leave the 99 and go after the one. Oftentimes, it’s associated with His love. He loves the one so much that he will leave the 99 and go after the one, and that is true. But it’s also connected to God’s obsession with winning it all. In other words, if I paid for 100, 99 is not enough. You understand what I’m saying?

So even in your life, as it relates to all that God has purposed and planned for you, God will sometimes hold up the 99. You could be satisfied with 99, but God loves you so much that he’s like, «Ah, I know you’ll be satisfied with 99, but when I created you before I put you in your mother’s womb, I ordained you for 100.» So if I have to make you go around the mountain a few more times, I’m going to do it because I’m a winner, and I win big. That’s the mentality of God. Some of us will take an A-minus; God will not. He won’t take a B. Not for Him. God is like, «I’m excellent. Everything I do is excellent.»

I feel this for somebody. I wasn’t going there, but for somebody, you would take an 85. The reason you would take an 85 is that you do not know your worth. Right now, your dream is an 85 compared to God’s 100. So we are in this unique season, and it’s like a full-circle season for some of you. This word is entirely prophetic, but for some of you, things are getting ready to come full circle for you. God has spoken some things to you a long time ago or from a far distance away. I need to say that better. You’ve got to get this; let me show you in a second in the text.

But God has spoken something to you either a long time ago or in a very distant place. In other words, the place where He spoke it to you, you no longer live in that place, and as a result, it’s difficult for you to hear because you’re not standing in the place where you once heard it. Let me take my time. Sometimes God will speak a word to you in a certain time and in a certain place, and there was an alignment that positioned you to hear what He said. However, what happens is this four-letter word called «life» happens. When life happens to us, oftentimes, we’re moved from that place to where that word was so clear and easy to hear.

So it’s not that you don’t necessarily remember the word; you’re just not in the space of the word anymore, and that word consequently becomes lost to you. You understand what I’m saying? He spoke it here; there, you got it! It made sense—boom! But then life happened. Oftentimes because of that word, do you know that when God gives you a word, particularly if it’s a destiny word, it will get you in trouble? You need some Bible now because let’s go; we’re going to look at Joseph for a second. Now can we just look at Joseph in Genesis chapter 37? I want to examine Joseph real quick. Joseph was the 11th son of Jacob, who is called Israel. He was the 11th son, and there was crazy favor on his life. He didn’t choose it; it just was what it was, and that favor got him in trouble.

Let’s look: «Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children because he was the son of his old age.» Also, Jacob, or Israel, made Joseph a tunic or a coat of many colors. So everybody else got their basic stuff. Joseph had favor in his life. All of a sudden, the father gives him this elaborate, stylish coat, right? But when his brothers saw that their father loved Joseph more than all his brothers, they hated him and could not speak peaceably to him. Favor will get you in trouble. Isn’t it interesting? Joseph didn’t do anything; he was just blessed—good ser! He’s just blessed, just favored. Matter of fact, he didn’t even choose the favor; it was just on him, and suddenly it began to attract trouble.

What if the reason you get rejected from some situations is that those situations hate the favor that’s on your life? You’d be surprised to know how people can see the favor, and when they are not healthy enough to respond correctly, they will reject you, trying to pretend like you’re not blessed. They try to pretend like the favor doesn’t exist because the very shine of you scares them. I feel God!
