How many of you have ever seen the movie «Law Abiding Citizen»? Raise your hand. See, I need to hang out with y’all. Those 9:00 people didn’t see it-it’s like so many of them had never heard of it. Well, it’s a movie where Jamie Foxx was the district attorney, and since I don’t have a whole lot of time to give you the background, because I want you to be able to make it to your reservation, just text. I’m telling you, you’re going to be about 10 minutes behind schedule because they’re going to be there waiting on you. But it’s basically about a guy who breaks into a house, kills a man 's family, and makes him watch. The man does nothing, goes through the process, and allows the system to work. But because Jamie Foxx 's character, the lawyer, didn’t want to mess up his conviction rate, he took a plea deal with the guy for a lesser charge. The man literally was out of prison in a few years. So the man was upset because basically what he was saying was, «I tried to do it the right way, and it didn’t work, and now I’ve got to take matters into my own hands.»

Has anyone in the room ever been in a situation where you were like, «All right, I did it the way the Lord said do it; that didn’t give me the result I was looking for, so now I’m going to have to get involved myself and see if I can exact an outcome»? Let me tell you something: anything you get involved in, you’ve got to see to the end. Anything you get involved in, you have to see to the end. And I promise you, you ain’t got it like that-only God can do that! He who has begun a good work is the only one who can establish it until the day of Jesus Christ.

So this guy said, «I tried my best; it didn’t work.» Let me tell y’all who haven’t seen it: this man ends up killing the people who killed his family, goes to prison, but what they didn’t know is he knew exactly where he would be placed. So he spent his free time digging during his incarceration, so that when he was in his incarcerated time, he could crawl out through what he built in his free time. Are you listening to me? They couldn’t find out who was killing everybody connected to the case because the person they suspected could not have done it — he was in prison! But they didn’t know, every night, he left prison to go kill somebody and came back to his cell, saying, " I told y’all to do something about it.»

What you do when you’re free will determine how far you can go when you are not. What you do when you don’t have as much responsibility will determine what you can do once you have responsibility. Right now, God is blessing you with a certain level of influence and finances. I am speaking to you about this today because the first principle of the Kingdom that we talked about was priority; the second principle was order. Who 's ready for the third principle? Y’all ain’t ready! Where’s that crowd at? How many of y’all are ready for the third principle? You ready? Now promise me y’all are not going to start tripping today. Promise me y’all won’t get quiet when I say this. They can’t promise me because they don’t know-principle number three: the law of the harvest! Everybody say, «The law of the harvest!»

I’m going to go through this, and then we’re going home. As long as the earth remains, seed time and harvest will not fail. One day, gravity won’t matter. How do I know? Christ is going to come back! Those of us who are alive will be caught up. See, gravity won’t matter because we’ll be caught up. So one day, gravity won’t matter. One day, the law of aerodynamics won’t matter because planes will not be in the New Kingdom. One day it won’t matter, but there is always one principle that will always remain, and that is seed time-are you with me? -and harvest time.

The reason why people have difficulty with this law is that it takes a long time to prove itself. If I jump off of the stage right now, gravity kicks in immediately-what goes up must come down! Did you know that the Chinese bamboo grows underground for five years and never gives any indication that it is going to come out of the ground? For five years, you have to water bamboo at the same time and in the same amount, day after day after day. If you miss a day, you set it back, and you have to start over. It grows underneath the dirt for five years, but when it comes above the ground, it has been said that it can grow 12 inches in a day!

So what happens in the law of the harvest is that we’re underground for so long, we’re behind for so long, we struggle for so long, we keep giving, and nothing happens. We keep being faithful, and nothing happens, and then we decide, like the man in the movie, «I’m not going to keep on giving my time, money, and effort to something that doesn’t yield for me.» What you don’t understand is that the moment the devil tricks you into believing it doesn’t work, you start the process over. And God says, «If you’ll stay faithful in the dirt, I’ll make you shine above the ground.»
