Those of you in children's church, those of you who are thinking of volunteering, all right, in a ministry that is close to the heart of God, children's church is definitely close to the heart of God. I'm telling you that. What honor this brings to our children's church ministry workers. You are doing something that is dear and close to our Savior's heart.

You are not forgiven based on your knowledge, based on your being cognizant of your sin, catching your sin, confessing your sin. "You don't catch it, you don't confess it, you're not forgiven". If that is the basis, you'll never have security. You'll never have true peace because what if there are sins you're not even aware of? What if there are sins you're ignorant of? So that's why, if the forgiveness depends on you confessing, all right, you'll never feel the peace.

1 John 1:9, was written for unbelievers, and I have a whole exposition of it in my new book, all right? So I'm gonna expound it here. Let's suffice to say this: We are forgiven based on God's knowledge of our sins. How that gives peace? So that now, when God, with his perfect knowledge of our sins, and even more, his perfect knowledge of the efficacy of the work of Jesus and his blood, when God says you're forgiven, you are forgiven.
