Let’s talk about stability. These are just five things; some may be very elementary for some, but maybe not for others. However, I believe these five things are essential for achieving stability in every season. I want to bring you to a place where, no matter what you face in life, you know it’s going to be okay. I’m serious. The reality is that some people are fine as long as A, B, and C happen to them, but what happens when D occurs? Do you follow what I’m saying? It’s my passion and my heart that your roots are so deep that even if D, F, E, G, element A, P, Q, or R take place, you will still have a conviction in your spirit that you are standing on solid ground, and you have stability in your life. This too shall pass. Are you hearing me? I need you to have that.
There’s a passage of scripture in the Book of Revelation where Jesus speaks about a group of people, saying they overcame by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony. Right? What does that mean? They overcame by two things: the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony. The blood of the Lamb is the acknowledgment of Jesus. When I understand Jesus, I see that He confronted every enemy I face, from sin to death, and overcame it. That’s what it means when it refers to His shed blood. He became everything that stood against us, crushed it, and killed it in His body, raising Himself up from the dead to declare, «I am stronger than you.»
So, what gives us the ability to overcome in every season and stand firm in every moment of life? I feel this deeply; for some of you, challenges will hit in life, and if you don’t have this worked out, it will knock you down. I really believe that’s why God is speaking this to you today: He doesn’t want you to have shallow faith. A shallow faith can be easily uprooted; all you need is a challenging situation. I want you to know that you are bigger than anything you will ever face. Always remember that greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. At some point, this cannot just be a cute church slogan; it has to be a consciousness and reality you live in, so when life starts to beat you down, you don’t quit.
The scripture says, «Do not be weary in well-doing, for in due season you will reap a harvest if you do not give up.» One thing I’ve learned is that the more life beats on you, the better positioned you are to become the greatest of all time. I wish someone would catch what I just said. You, as an individual, are called to be the greatest version of yourself, but it doesn’t happen when life is all cute and sweet, or when everything goes your way, or when you face something that at first glance seems manageable. That’s not real life. A challenge may come at you, and your initial response might be, «I got this.» But when something truly worthy of who you are confronts you, your first reaction is, «Wow!» If a trial comes at you and you don’t take a moment to reflect, it isn’t a worthy opponent.
When you’re facing a challenge of your size, it often seems larger than you are, and that’s when God is preparing to stretch you and bring your self-image to its proper place. It’s when you face something bigger than you, something that challenges and stretches you, demanding you be greater than this. Oh, I feel that! So, He says they overcame by the blood of the Lamb. That’s the understanding that Jesus overcame all of that for us. When I look at His victory, I must see myself in it because His victory wasn’t for Himself; it was for us. Jesus didn’t do it for Him—everything about Him was to give me confidence that no matter what I face, I can overcome. They overcame by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony.
Now, what does that mean? It’s about what you say regarding your season and your situation. If you’re in a difficult situation and say, «Oh, it’s over now,» that’s not the right testimony. You have to maintain the correct narrative over what you’re facing. Yes, He overcame by the blood of the Lamb and what Jesus did. I want us to reach a place, family, where no matter what happens—no matter what slaps you in the face—you can look it in the face and say, «This too will pass. I see you on the other side of this. You are not going to wipe me out. I’ve come too far. I’m alive; I have breath in my body. God didn’t just keep me alive and give me breath in my lungs.»
