What I want to discuss is how the reality of our covenant is not just salvation; it’s inheritance. You have, you have, you have an inheritance. You’ve been grafted into, as one of the passages of Scripture says, the Commonwealth of Israel. You have a powerful inheritance, and I have news for you—I’ll just say this right now: God still has inheritances to give. I feel the Holy Ghost. He’s still in the inheritance business, right? Some of you are called to inherit spaces and places. Oh, I want to prophesy! Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah! It’s you! He’s got something for you, and you can’t be perplexed by the fact that somebody else is there because, as we just saw in the text, it doesn’t matter. Sometimes someone is there because you are not there. But when you begin to embrace the reality of your calling and the reality of your covenant—God didn’t just save you to save you so you could be in church, shouting and dancing; He’s given you a territory, and He’s called you to inherit something—you start moving differently. Can we talk about it? God hasn’t run out of power. I know the economy is getting a little tricky. I know resources seem to be diminishing greatly. I know that, particularly here in this town, the whole landscape of entertainment has changed. It’s crazy. We had the pandemic, which shut us down. We had the strike, which shut us down once again. We’ve had a shift in, and I know this is, you know, not everybody’s industry; it’s particular to some. But I’m just telling you—I understand what’s happening. We’ve had a shift in how things are done. We’ve had AI, and all these other things take place. Studios are moving differently; they’re not writing checks like they used to. I drive to the city, and it doesn’t feel as abundant as it used to. You know what I’m talking about? Who’s been here long enough to remember when there was just abundance? Man, we had jobs; it was popping, it was cracking! You know we were selling stuff, selling shows—I need to qualify that, selling shows, and it was just… you know what I mean? You’d be down there, and see you and your friends would get a job. You remember that? It isn’t like that anymore, and the money has changed, but the prices are still high. Can we just have a real conversation for a minute? We’re feeling it on the church side, too, because we’ve got double and triple the benevolence requests, and the amounts are higher. So this isn’t something I’m just throwing out; there’s a real-life situation happening. But God is still in the blessing business! What that means is, you and I, as covenant people, have to be a little bit more precise and concise in our movements. I’ve got—it’s not in my notes, but you need to get this: if there are seemingly fewer resources, sometimes God allows that to happen so you can be a little more intentional, so you can be a little hungrier, so you can listen a little better, so that your faith… sometimes God will allow your back to get up against the wall so you can stop living between two opinions—yours and God’s. There are some people in here who have tried it your way, and it’s only gotten you so far. Here’s the truth: the shape of your destiny is a specific shape, which means that the Potter Himself has to… you have to submit yourself like clay and allow the Potter to shape you in such a way to fit through the door of abundance. It’s not a big white gate anymore; it is a small… come on, narrow is the way! It is a narrow way, and only a few will find it. It’s not that the abundance isn’t there; you just have to get slimmer. The Bible says, «laying aside every weight and the sin which so easily besets us, which so easily ensnares us.» I want to encourage someone right now: it isn’t drying up; the river isn’t drying up! You just have to get in alignment, baby! You’ve got to get in alignment, you’ve got to hear better, you’ve got to move better, you’ve got to slim up, you’ve got to let go of whatever God tells you to let go, and you’ve got to grab whatever God tells you to grab! Are you hearing the words that are coming out of my mouth? Abundance is still here—in this city, in this region, in this life! But what are you willing to surrender? That’s good! In order to get what’s yours, anyway, what are you willing to surrender? The grace is when He allows the gate to be wide. But when the time is getting short and when the time is running out, the gates become windows. The longer you wait, the tighter the door. I pray somebody will come out of this service and go right into fasting—a fresh surrender. I know I surrendered last month; I know I surrendered last year, but I hear God saying «down is the way up.» I hear that surrendering is the way up! There’s something about giving God another surrender, a fresh surrender, that’s going to be your way forward, which leads me to this thought.
