So I recently made a move; I can’t be preaching, telling y’all to make a move and not make a move myself. Glory to God! And not just any move; you know what I’m talking about. I’m talking about when God calls you to something. I’m talking about obedience; I’m talking about the willingness to shift when God tells you to shift, to move, to make your move, understanding that God moves in times and seasons and there are windows for things. This is why obedience is so important. Like Bishop Rosie O’Neill said, procrastination is the arrogant assumption that God will create an opportunity tomorrow for what He called you to do today, and that’s exactly what it is. God moves in windows and openings. So when you are compelled to do something, and you’re strongly compelled in the moment, it’s significant because God is not wasting inspiration; He’s not wasting words; He’s not wasting revelation. God understands times and seasons, and so when you hear a word, and that word continues to be confirmed, I don’t know who this is for, but when you hear a word that continues to be confirmed, confirmed, confirmed—when that word begins to chase you—ever been there? A word just chases you down; you’re trying to shut off the word, and then you walk up, and your dog has a note. It’s because God is serious, and He doesn’t want you to miss that moment, right? So I had to make a move myself recently; I made a move, and I heard God’s voice. You know how it goes: you hear God’s voice, and there’s confirmation. You know how it is; you’ve been there before. It’s confirmation, and you’re not even looking for it. Everywhere you turn, there’s that word. I was in that place, and I stepped out; I stepped out on that word, and doors began to open. Let me tell you something—the beauty, the most beautiful part of a transition is the beginning. I have learned to be very suspicious when God—watch this—front-loads confirmations. You’re tracking with me? What I mean by when God front-loads confirmation is when He tells you something, and the confirmations are abundant everywhere you turn. It’s in the beginning of you stepping into that move. I have learned to be very suspicious because it begs the question: God, why are you front-loading me with encouragement? You just go through two or three transitions; you’ll know what I’m talking about. I have learned to say, «Wait a minute! What’s coming? Why are you so invested in me making the move now? What’s coming?» So literally, I had this experience recently where I stepped out, confirmations were rolling, and doors were opening. Hallelujah! Thank you, Jesus; oh, it’s wonderful, isn’t it? You know, you almost think that it’s always going to be like that. Then I looked up, and I woke up one morning, and I felt funny. I was trying to figure out what it was; I felt strange, and it wasn’t the kind of strange feeling where the Holy Spirit is trying to tell you something. It wasn’t like my Holy Ghost was grieved, and it wasn’t like discernment that something is off. You know what I mean because, with God, we have checks and balances in the Holy Ghost; the Spirit of the Lord will let you know when something is off. It wasn’t any of that; it was something different. I started getting anxious, and I started thinking about—watch this—suddenly, I began thinking about everything. I mean everything that could go wrong in this move. Has anybody ever been there before? You step out on faith, everything’s good, and all of a sudden, your mind just goes crazy. Your peace is disrupted, and you start calculating and tallying every single scenario in the history of the universe that could go wrong. I began to feel, watch this, my stability slipping away from me. Oh God, you’ve been there, full of faith, yes! This is it, this is it! You know, you’re singing that song; you know what I mean, «Christ is my firm foundation; I built my—» come on, you know what I’m talking about. Your chest is poked out, and you’re strong in God, and then something shifts on you. That’s what happened to me. Ah, nothing—watch this—nothing in my situation had changed, but all of a sudden, I am ruminating over every potential negative outcome, watch this, over something that 30 minutes ago I was excited about, sure of, and thoroughly convinced. So I do what I usually do when I don’t feel good: I go talk to God. «God, you said, wha wha wha! What is this?» As God began to speak to me, He said a few things. He said, first of all, «This is a worry attack. A worry attack; it’s what it is—it’s a worry attack, and you have to—watch this—you have to see worry as an attack.» Oh, I’m just getting warmed up; trust me, you got to see worry as an attack because it felt like an attack. It’s really interesting; there’s a Greek word for doubt in the New Testament that is an interesting word, and if you break that word down, watch this, it literally means to separate.
