What’s up, everybody? Welcome to the Wednesday night reset! Good to see you all. I want you to drop right now—we’re coming in hot tonight! I want to see if you’re following instructions. Drop some fire in the chat! We’re coming in hot; drop that fire in the chat, man! I’m so grateful to be with you tonight. I hope you’re doing incredibly well, praying that you’re experiencing God’s best life as the Creator intended. I hope you’re having a good week so far. If you are not, listen to me: don’t allow the first part of your week to disrupt and destroy the last part of your week. Don’t let the first part of your week disrupt and destroy the rest of your week, all right? Own the rest of this week in Jesus' name!
So, listen, as always, I’m going to ask you to do something. If you’re new here, I want to welcome you and thank you for logging on to this Bible study. This is what we believe—at least I believe—that the quality of your life is largely determined by the quality of your decisions, and the quality of your decisions is based on the reliability and accuracy of the information that you’re using to make them. So, if I’m going to make decisions regarding my life, the expert on life is the one who created it: God. Someone follow the Creator’s instructions!
What we want to do is take time each week to unpack and articulate what some of these instructions are for our life. Man, welcome! Press that like button if you’re watching us right now. That will help push us up in the algorithm; we want to reach as many people as possible. As I’m teaching, if someone comes to your heart or mind—someone you feel could benefit from this conversation—make sure you share it with them!
I’m really excited! Last week, if you didn’t watch last week’s Wednesday night teaching, oh my goodness! I want you to go back and check that out. It’s different, but I want to pick up where we left off: Paul’s letter to the believers in Ephesus. He says to them, «In your anger do not sin.» We unpacked that first phrase and talked about the reality of anger; it means you’re human and not necessarily evil.
Now I want to unpack this next phrase in our time together tonight. Here it is: «Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry.» One translation says, «Don’t let the sun go down on your wrath.» What does that mean? Paul says, «Okay, there are certain things that are going to make you angry, but make sure your anger doesn’t lead to a sinful response.» Come on! The enemy wants to use an offense or an injury to get us to act impulsively, and our impulsive actions can cause more damage than the actual offense. I’ll say that again: the enemy wants to use offense or injury to get us to respond and react impulsively because our reaction can cause more damage than the offense itself.
Think about this: when Jesus was betrayed by Judas, notice Jesus’s response. Prior to Judas’s betrayal, when they were at the table enjoying the Passover supper, Jesus said to Judas, «Whatever you’re going to do, do it quickly.» Watch this! Somebody better put this in the chat: «Their dysfunction can’t stop your destiny.» Please put that in the chat and edify one another! Their dysfunction cannot stop your destiny! Jesus told Judas, «Whatever you do, do it quickly.» In other words, «Your actions are not going to inhibit me from accomplishing my assignment. You may agitate me, but you can’t annihilate me.» Y’all better come get me tonight!
He’s saying the only thing you can create is a temporary inconvenience, but the suffering of this present time is not worthy to be compared with the glory that shall be revealed! Some of the offenses and injuries can only agitate us. The enemy wants to magnify those to the degree that we incorrectly assume this injury and offense will stop us. I came to tell somebody—I don’t know why I feel the preaching anointing tonight. When I say «preaching,» I don’t mean volume; I mean proclaiming. Teaching is explaining; preaching is proclaiming. Jesus did both. I feel that preacher anointing right now, and I’m trying to tell you that when God wants to put you in the room, I don’t care who wants to keep you out—nobody can close the door that God has decided to open. I’ll say that again: when God gets ready to place you in position, He requires no one else’s permission. This revelation will make us less likely to have unbiblical responses!
